FairMoney is building the leading mobile bank for emerging markets. We started with a digital microcredit application on Android, and currently roll out additional financial services (current account, savings, debit card) while expanding the product to Western Africa and South-East Asia.

  • We want someone who can ensure top quality customer support, own the issue and follow up on all customers requests, enquiries/complaints across all channels and ensure end to end resolution.
  • As a Customer Support Agent for the Lending team, you will be based in Lagos and working with our other customer success representatives, as well as other teams based in Paris & India.
  • You will get to work within any of the following units: Email, Social media, Inbound – working a 24 hr shift, 7 days a week (but working only 5 days of the week).

Roles and Responsibilities

Your mission will be to:

  • Improve customer relationship management by taking the burden of service management from frontline customer support teams.
  • Resolve sophisticated problems for customers quickly and with the highest quality over the phone/email in a heavy volume environment.
  • Work closely with team leads, supervisors and managers to ensure synergy and all-time customer satisfaction.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Contribute and share ideas to decrease the workload and improve the quality & speed of FairMoney customer support
  • Learn and master multiple systems (knowledge base, internal tools, contact management system)
  • Provide first-tier technical support services to FairMoney’s customers.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and drive them to resolution.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience (experience working in all customer service environment is an added advantage) in fintech, or any financial services sector
  • A key player in building a support team in a challenging growth environment
  • Positive and hard working attitude
  • Strong eye for detail which includes identifying customer problems swiftly and accurately while solving queries as this can impact company relations
  • Knowledge of relevant CS Softwares
  • Good understanding of English and must be able to read, speak and write in English Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Accurate comprehension, interpretation, and timely response to emails and call is an added advantage
  • Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel / spreadsheets and MS Word.
  • Understand what does outstanding customer support look like and be ready to go the extra mile
  • Open to all modes of support (email, phone support)
  • Willing to work full time, including weekends and evenings (working on a rotational basis)

Objectives

  • Monitor Budget and performance in relation to manufacturing standards, set standards for unit costs and recommend appropriate cost-saving opportunities.

Responsibilities

Coordination of manufacturing review process:

  • Agree job |manufacturing review calendar with budget holders Generate monthly pre-close reports and analysis.
  • Conduct monthly cost reviews for all SKU’s, providing adequate documentation.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of all production cost accounts,
  • Investigate and follow-up with responsible parties to resolve erroneous postings and raising necessary journals to correct them.
  • Report significant omissions in the job costing to management. Investigate and report on all manufacturing variances.

  • Develop cost-saving initiatives for presentation to management, with subsequent implementation.

Matsumae International Foundation Research Fellowship Program 2023

Upon the concept of the founder of the Matsumae International Foundation (MIF), “Towards A Greater Understanding of Japan and a Lasting World Peace”, MIF has started the Research Fellowship Program in 1980.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants of non-Japanese nationality who meet all the following requirements are eligible to submit application documents.

● Obtain an invitation (acceptance) letter from a host institution in Japan prior to application.

● Hold Ph.D. (Doctoral degree).

● Be at the age of 49 years old or younger at the time of application and have sufficient the English or Japanese languages ability.

● Should not have past or current experiences of staying in Japan (other than short-term stays such as for sightseeing or conferences) and must have an occupation in their home countries, return there upon completing their fellowship tenure, and should contribute to development of their own country.

Research Field

Fields of research such as natural science, engineering, and medicine are given first priority.

Fellowship Period

Three to six months between April 2023 to March 2024.

Please indicate the length of your stay and its commencing and ending month in your Application Form (Form #1). (E.g., Six months from September 2023 to February 2024.)

Host Institution in Japan

– Applicants are free to choose a host institution in Japan (universities, national research institutions, or the equivalent facilities in private sector) to carry out their research.

Please be sure to obtain a letter of acceptance from the host institution prior to application.

The MIF is not in a position to give advice or recommendations to applicants regarding host institutions in Japan.

The United States Embassy, Nigeria seeks to identify academically qualified and highly motivated, low-income students in Nigeria to join the EducationUSA Opportunity Funds Program (OFP).

US Embassy EducationUSA Opportunity Funds Program (OFP) 2022 for young Nigerians

Opportunity Funds Program Scholars must attend all group sessions held at the location to which they applied: Lagos or Abuja. Advisers will need to spend time with each scholar so as to provide the best guidance for them. This will take place from the time of selection in July of the year you apply until at least December of that year. However, meetings will continue to take place until you receive a fully funded admission and leave for the U.S. in August of the following year.

Responsibility for Scholars

  • All OFP Scholars must commit their time and energy towards applying to institutions that can offer a full scholarship.
  • They must put in what we call “sweat equity.” They must also be willing to mentor the next cohort of scholars and demonstrate an ethos of giving back.

Opportunity Funds Program Scholars are issued F-1 Student visas.

Requirements

  • Strong academic record for undergraduate applicants (7A1s in 2022 or 2021 WAEC)
  • Graduate applicants must have First Class or 2.1(STEM major preferred)
  • Robust participation in extracurricular activities

  • OFP will cover the cost of taking standardized tests, application fees (limited amount), international passport, a flight ticket to the U.S, visa and SEVIS fees, and if available, a settling-in allowance.
  • In extenuating circumstances and funds permitting, OFP may cover the cost of a credential evaluation, mailing transcripts and I-20 forms or additional score reports, internet data (if we are operating virtually).

AIDS 2022 Young Leaders Programme for young activists and young researchers

The Young Leaders of AIDS 2022 Programme is offered at the International AIDS Conference and IAS Conference on HIV Science to ensure that the voices of young people living with HIV, young activists and young researchers are heard at international meetings. In addition, the dedicated programme provides young people with opportunities to strengthen their research and advocacy skills to support capacity building.

Young Leaders at AIDS 2022

Young Leaders will benefit from an exclusive four-day curriculum at AIDS 2022, which will include the following opportunities:

  • Meetings with leading scientists, researchers and advocates, including AIDS 2022 plenary speakers and IAS leaders
  • One-on-one career forum to discuss individual career pathways in the field of HIV
  • Networking with other young people living with HIV, young activists and young researchers.

ACU Higher Education & the SDGs Challenge Grants 2022 (GBP 10,000 in grants)

Open to professional and academic staff at ACU member universities, the grants focus on the following ACU Higher Education and the SDGs Network priority themes:

  • Teaching and learning
  • Research
  • Estates and stewardship
  • Engagement and impact
  • Partnerships

From sourcing energy-saving and clean energy options for selected Fijian schools, to supporting women’s economic empowerment by addressing the financial literacy and gender-based disparities in access to finance – the grants have been used to fund a diverse range of activities, projects, workshops, and events.

Grant

  • Four grants of GBP 2,500 are available.

Applications could include ideas for:

  • Virtual exchange or collaboration, teaching or professional practice collaboration, sharing and co-development of learning materials, tools, training and approaches to support contingency and continuity of operations planning at Higher Education Institution’s (HEI’s)
  • Virtual fellowships, comparative analyses, research management and uptake capacity building
  • Integrating sustainable development into operations
  • Sharing SDG learning content and materials
  • Developing SDG-focused research strategies
  • Co-creating research for impact, community engagement, and partnerships for the goals

How to Apply

To apply, you will need to:

  • Supply an outline of the project and a detailed time plan, including what it will involve and how it will address the Higher Education and the SDGs Network’s themes. The project time plan is requested for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 12 months.
  • Submit a letter of support from the Executive Head or equivalent of your institution to demonstrate their support for the programme of work proposed and the ways they will provide support for your project. The letter of support also acts as a reference for the project lead.
  • You will also need to attach the project lead’s CV.

Grant applications that allow matching or additional funds from the applicant’s institution will be looked upon favourably but it is also not essential.

  • Collaboration

Requirements

Current resident of an African country in Continental Africa

Individuals (at least 18 years of age), or a representative of a non-governmental organization (NGO) or social enterprise based in Africa.

Demonstrated experience conducting activities supporting women and girls in computer science or STEM fields

Commitment to developing and contributing to a virtual community for supporting women and girls initiative

Projects eligible for grant funding include, but are not limited to:

Computer science workshops and training for women and girls.

Early incubation of female tech entrepreneurs

Programming and app development programs

Hackathons and coding boot camps for girls

Check-ITU Generation Connect Gender Champions 2022 for young women

The Standard Bank Africa Chairman’s Scholarship 2022/2023 for Study in the United Kingdom (Fully Funded )

LSE is pleased to confirm three Standard Bank Africa Chairman’s Scholarships for the 2022/23 session. These scholarships are generously funded by Standard Bank Group.

These scholarships are to support academically gifted students who do not have the financial means to pursue further studies of this nature. The successful candidates will need to demonstrate a combination of exceptional academic merit and financial need.

Scholarship Worth

Each scholarship will provide the cost of full tuition fees for the eligible programmes and provide a maintenance stipend of £21,000 for living costs.

  • applied for admission to study at LSE; see How to apply
  • submitted the LSE Graduate Financial Support Application (including Section G: Personal Statement) accessed via the Graduate Application Tracker
  • received an offer of admission (conditional or unconditional)

  • We are looking to hire a dedicated Communications Officer to join our team. The Communications Officer will support our internal and external communications strategy, write, and disseminate publicity material, respond to inquiries from the public, and coordinate promotional events.
  • To succeed as a communications officer, you should be able to think creatively, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Create and launch targeted marketing campaigns.

  • Organize all units to implement and operationalize a central database of holistic documentation for institutional memory.
  • Design graphics and layouts for relevant documents as required.
  • Ensure all visible materials, presentations, training, and reports of project activities comply with the donor’s brand guidelines and communications plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • 3+ years prior experience in a communications role specifically in the Development sector.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator is an asset.
  • Understanding of communications, public relations, and marketing best practices.
  • Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve communication efforts.
  • Video editing skills are a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.
  • Understand the best practices of main social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
  • Must have creative and technical writing skills and be able to compose engaging and accurate content.
  • Strong communicator who works well independently and with a team.

UNFPA Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship Program 2022 for young Ghanaians

The YoLe Fellowship is a year-long programme designed to empower Fellows to be ICPD ambassadors for UNFPA’s mandates. It builds the capacity of young people for the job market including the UN system by providing opportunities for professional and career development as well as training in driving health-innovation. Fellows  also have access to one-on-one high-level mentorship from high achieving personalities within different sectors.

Eligibility:

The applicant must be:

  • Aged between 18 – 26 years
  • A graduate of a tertiary institution in Ghana
  • Able to commit to the Fellowship duration (one year)
