Job Overview / Summary

Major Responsibilities

• To assist the senior Finance Officer in ensuring that timely and accurate payments are made.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of payment documents in compliance with IRC and Donor policies and procedure
• Coordinate with district teams for advance issuance and their timely liquidation of advances & Training documentation.
• Finance/Budgeting
• Act always in accordance with local law and standards of accounting practice.
• Review budget with the aim of gaining a clear understanding of budget guidelines and instructions
• Review funding allocations to enable proper guidance to programs and proper coding.
• Provide training to program staff on finance issues.
• Assist the Senior finance officer in preparing PO/Non-PO journals in the Integra system and submitted for relevant approval. Ensure that all information in the journal is correct and complete.
• Processing of petty cash transactions on daily basis. Carry out cash count as per the IRC policy and schedule. Document the cash count sheets for records.
• Prepare all payments and make sure that they are properly coded and supported with relevant necessary documents.
• Assist senior Finance officer in monthly bank & account reconciliation.
• Ensure all the financial documents are properly filed & tagged.
• Paid stamping of all the invoices and related documents before filing.
• Ensure timely preparation of tax & deposit into the bank.
• Visit Bank for necessary collection & submission of financial documents.
• Photocopies & scanning of all necessary documents/Instruments.
• Perform any other task assign by the line manager.

• Indirect Reporting: Senior Area Manager, Finance Coordinator, Finance Manager.
• Other Internal and/or external contacts: Field coordinator, IRC Gwoza sector leads.

Yale Drama Series 2023 Playwriting Competition for emerging Playwrights ( $10,000 prize)

The winner of this annual competition will be awarded the David Charles Horn Prize of $10,000, publication of their manuscript by Yale University Press, and a celebratory event. The prize and publication are contingent on the playwright’s agreeing to the terms of the publishing agreement.

Requirements:

There is no entry fee. Please follow these guidelines in preparing your manuscript:

1. This contest is applicable to only plays written in the English language. Worldwide submissions are welcome.
2. Submissions must be original, unpublished full-length plays, with a minimum of 65 pages. Plays with less than 65 pages will not be considered. Translations, musicals, and children’s plays are not accepted.
3. The Yale Drama Series will support emerging playwrights. Playwrights may win the competition only once.
4. Playwrights may submit only one manuscript per year.  Only manuscripts authored by one playwright are eligible.
5. Plays that have been professionally produced or published are not eligible and plays that have had a workshop, reading, or non-professional production or that have been published as an actor’s edition will be considered.
6. Plays may not be under option, commissioned, or scheduled for professional production or publication at the time of submission.

Description

• Review legal cases, petitions and internal matters requiring legal input/perspective, consult with all relevant parties, advise on case/petition/legal related matters, provide recommendation on course of action and effectively take appropriate and approved action in accordance with the rules and regulations of MoMoPSB.
• Ensure continuous liaison with External Solicitors for regular updates, compliance with procedural rules of court, stipulated time limits for actions, etc. so as to minimize the cost and adverse effect of litigation.
• Carry out legal (administrative) services work including liaison/correspondence with external bodies and organizations, structuring and negotiating commercial transactions.
• Settle legal issues between MoMoPSB and 3rd parties, assisting in managing liquidations and disputes.
• Draft legal agreements and review all relevant documentation supporting contracts for authenticity and validity, reviewing commercial agreements and documentations of transactions.
• Conduct proactive prevention of litigation, ensuring Legal processes and services are effective and efficient in line with defined and approved design and rules.
• Administer controls to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and effectively integrate ethics, compliance and preventive law efforts, ensuring MoMoPSB activities are compliant with laid down laws and governing regulations/statutes.
• Prepare monthly management reports.

Educational Qualification and Experience

• First Degree in Law.
• Fluent in English
• In depth experience and understanding of the Nigerian Legal framework.
• Knowledge of telecommunications environment is advantageous.
• Commercial/technical and or further legal qualification is advantageous.
• 3 – 7 Years’ experience including:
• Experience working in a medium-sized organization
• Civil/commercial litigation experience.
• Experience in handling and negotiating funding.
