In our glass container business, we are focused on markets in Africa, which are increasingly the prime regions of investment for our customers. We are recruiting to fill the position below

Job Title: Quality Complaint Coordinator

Location: Agbara, Ogun

Job Purpose

  • Coordinate trial runs at customer’s sites and resolve customers’ complaints arising from our plants and serve as link between customers and plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and monitors trial runs on fresh deliveries and communicate feedback to the concerned plant.
  • Visit customers’ plants to ensure feedback on supplies are addressed without degenerating into complaints.
  • Conduct joint investigation of root cause for complaints and feedback with appropriate feedback to operations Director, Plant managers (as applicable) and Quality Assurance Managers
  • Coordinate and write monthly reports on customers’ complaint, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and status of implementation and effectiveness.
  • Conduct at least one training per plant per month for quality and cold-end staff on quality process and customer complaint handling

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Food science, glass technology and statistics or related field
  • Good communication skills – oral and written
  • Leadership and time management skills
  • Knowledge of ISO management system and good analytic skill in the use of Microsoft offices – MS Excel, MS Words and Power Point.
  • Minimum of  10 years in relevant fields (Food and Beverage, Packaging, FMCG)
  • Expertise in developing root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Relevant training/experience in customer complaint resolution

Job Title: HR Assistant

Location: MSF OCA, Anka, Zamfara

Job Type: Indefinite

Main Objective and Responsibility of the Position

  • Execute administrative, HR and legal related tasks to support the Project HR Manager following MSF standards and procedures, in order to ensure legal compliance and to realize the HR capacity required to achieve project objectives.

Generic Accountabilities

  • Under supervision of the Project HR Manager managing personal files in order to ensure accuracy, compliance and on time payments.
  • Updating the HR database and personnel files to facilitate HR processes management.
  • Updating social security tax office files in order to meet legal requirements including specific amendments when necessary in order to ensure local labour and fiscal law compliance.
  • Making all administrative information available to the staff (posting, meetings, etc.), supporting the Project HR Manager in translating documents into local language and assisting in meetings upon request.
  • Additional HR/ Admin tasks delegated by the Project HR Manager.
  • Preparing employment contracts in conformity with legal requirements including specific amendments when necessary in order to ensure local labour and fiscal law compliance.
  • Preparing monthly pay slips for all staff, editing and updating the necessary data, in order to ensure the punctuality and accuracy of staff payroll.

MSF Section / Context Specific Accountabilities

  • Support the Line Manager in recruitment and hiring processes (Administrative tasks).
  • Brief new employees on HR policies, Procedures, Administrative forms and regulations according to MSF’s Labour Terms and Conditions.
  • Support the HR Manager to ensure that the MSF OCA Nigeria Labour Terms and Conditions are implemented and support actively Policies & Procedures implementation.
  • Roster technical verification as per the terms and conditions of MSF OCA
  • Provide answers to day to day questions posed by employees concerning their salaries and clarify the pay slip contents under local employment legislation.
  • Supporting the Line Manager in translating documents into local language and assisting in meetings/recruitment for translation on request.
  • Act willingly and proactively on the other HR instructions from the line manager for the smooth running of daily tasks.
  • Checking Roster and get line manager approval before sharing with managers and supervisors.
  • Following the timeframes of staff contracts (Types, Term) and get instructed to proceed accordingly.
  • Maintain the Daily Worker Pool list, ensuring update of pool information, rotation of selected staff and reporting issues in management of daily workers proactively
  • Act as focal point for staff pension and National housing fund scheme.
  • Supervise the domestic staff (Cleaners) located at the Expat Base and in the Office.
  • Preparing monthly pay slips for all staff, editing and updating the necessary data, in order to ensure the punctuality and accuracy of staff payroll and monthly Homere closure/management.
  • Preparing employment contracts in conformity with legal requirements including specific amendments when necessary in order to ensure local labour and fiscal law compliance.
  • Updating the HR database and staff personal files to facilitate HR processes management.
  • Support the timely and accurate payment of Incentive staff though communication of submission timeframes, preparation of incentive payment spreadsheet and liaison with line managers as required.

YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa which is part of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative and one of the four regional hubs that provides transformational learning and improved leadership skills to young Africans. Selection for participation in the YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa will be conducted as a merit-based, open competition. All eligible applications will be reviewed by a selection panel. Chosen semi-finalists will then be interviewed before a final selection is made and an invitation to join the program is issued.

Selection panels will use the following criteria to evaluate applications:

  • A demonstrated leadership in public service, business and entrepreneurship, or civic engagement.
  • Active engagement in public or community service, volunteerism, or mentorship.
  • The ability to work cooperatively in diverse groups and respect the opinions of others.
  • Strong social and communication skills.
  • An energetic, positive attitude.

The Social & Inclusive Business Camp 2022 for young African Social Entrepreneurs.

The Social & Inclusive Business Camp is an acceleration and capacity building programme. It is dedicated to entrepreneurs with an impact project on the African continent and willing to scale up.

It is a hybrid support programme, including:

  • 3 months of remote coaching on a dedicated online platform, alternating interactive virtual classes with international experts and learning resources to consult autonomously.
  • 1 week of intensive Bootcamp in Marseille, France, in partnership with the EMERGING Valley Summit (event dedicated to emerging innovations between Europe and Africa)
  • The possibility for each participant to be followed by a mentor, an experienced alumni of the programme
  • Networking, through integration into an active and ambitious international community of 240 entrepreneurs and networking with investors and financial partners during the Bootcamp.

Since its first edition in 2017, the SIBC has supported 240 entrepreneurs with a strong social impact in Africa in their transition to scale-up, in the measurement of their social performance and in their preparation for fundraising.

Requirements

To apply, the company must meet all these criteria:

  • Be a legally registered company
  • Prove a positive impact in Africa: social or environmental impact, activity serving vulnerable populations (women, people with disabilities, refugees…) and/or integrating vulnerable populations in its value chain as customers, distributors, suppliers or employees
  • Prove that you have first customers, a turnover and a balanced economic model or a medium-term profitability objective
  • Have a desire to grow and present a scale-up strategy that takes into account the maximisation of social or environmental impact

The candidate representing the company, referred to here as the “applicant” or “the candidate”, must be the founder, co-founder, manager or at least in a position to make strategic decisions for the company.

The following will not be eligible:

  • Individual applications
  • NGOs without a business model or profitability objective
  • Public and semi-public organisations
  • Companies at the project stage (without first revenues, prototype or proof of concept)

Prerequisites to participate in the programme:

  • The candidate representing the company, called “the applicant” or “the candidate”, must be the founder, co-founder, manager or at least in a position to make strategic decisions for the company;
  • The applicant must ensure that he/she has sufficiently stable internet access to be able to follow the training and exchange sessions in good conditions;
  • The candidate will have to be able to allocate time to the programme from September to the end of November 2022, at a rate of approximately 2 hours per week over this period
  • The active involvement of the laureates within the SIBC community, and with future laureates through mentoring, etc., is hoped for.

Nuffic Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) Scholarships 2022/2023 for mid-career professionals to study in The Netherlands (Fully Funded)

The Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) offers scholarships funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs available for a selection of:

  • short courses (duration 2 weeks to 12 months);
  • master’s programmes (duration 12 to 24 months).

Requirements

A limited number of scholarships is awarded to female and male professionals who are:

  • motivated;
  • living and working in an OKP country;
  • proficient in English or French;
  • working in one of the priority areas for their country;
  • can motivate using and transferring their knowledge and experience in their employing organisation after their studies;
  • agreeing to the OKP obligations and conditions (133.9 kB).

Language

You need English or French language skills to follow classes in the Netherlands. Demands for certificates showing language skills differ per education institution.

Selection procedure

The procedure is as follows:

2. Dutch institution nominates candidates and submits grant application

3. Embassies check eligibility and assess applications

4. Selection results available for Dutch education institutions

5. Grants awarded through Dutch education institutions

Results of applications are announced 3 to 4 months after application. The Dutch education institution through which you applied for the scholarship will contact you on the results of your application.

– Courses should start between 21 November 2022 and 20 February 2023.

Round 3 – for short courses

You are invited to apply for the France–South Africa Scholarship Programme 2022/2023 for young South Africans for an opportunity to be considered for study in France. See eligibility and additional information below.

The France–South Africa Scholarship Programme 2022/2023 for young South Africans to study in France (Fully Funded)

The current call for applications is open for students who intend to start their studies in France in September 2023. Applicants will be contacted individually as needed. The list of the laureates and the waiting list will be announced according to the indicated timeline.

Due to the differences between the Southern and Northern hemisphere calendars, laureates will follow a specific programme in South Africa from February 2023 to July 2023. This track will include online French courses organized by the network of the Alliances Françaises. It may also include an internship in French Companies and organisations based in South Africa, depending on the opportunities and the profile of each laureate.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for the France – South Africa Scholarship Progralle, applicants must be:

  • Born on or after 1st January 1992.
  • A South African, Basotho or Malawian national.
  • Enrolled in a French Higher Education institution (in due time) to pursue a Master’s degree or PhD.

The scholarship is for a given period to be spent in France, matching the necessary time required to obtain the degree:

  • For Master’s degree, the scholarship will be for a duration between 10 and 22 months. Master degree programmes are two years long. In some specific cases (Bachelor degree with Honours, for example), students may consider applying directly to M2 (second-year of the Master Programme). Only the hosting higher education institution is responsible for the admission. At the end of the first academic year, the Embassy of France will verify the success of the student to continue her/his studies in the second year of the Master’s programme.
  • For PhDs, the scholarship will be for a maximum duration of 3 years. However, at the end of each academic year, in order to get the renewal of his/her grant, the recipient will have to justify the progress of their research work.
  • In case of a PhD under co-supervision/cotutelle, periods of stay in France should be specified. The scholarship will only be for the periods spent in France.
  • For PhD and Master Degrees, if the curriculum requires course work which will take place outside France, then applicant must specify all the details and his/her intentions, in the application process.

Benefits

Two schemes are possible under the France South Africa Scholarship Programme:

A full scholarship by the Embassy of France. It includes:

  • The status of scholarship-holder of the French Government which includes social security, priority for accessing student housing, visa fee exemption and assistance offered by Campus France Paris.
  • The payment of tuition fees, not exceeding 5000€ per year.
  • A return flight ticket to France.
  • A monthly allowance (approximately 700 euros for master students and 1400 euros for PhD students).
  • An additional individualized accommodation aid (approximately 150 euros/month) can be obtained from the French Government.

In the second scheme of a cost sharing scholarship, the monthly allowance will be provided fully or partially by a partner (a partner among the Advisory Board, a company, a higher education institution or any other funding agency). All the other benefits of a full scholarship will still be provided by the Embassy of France. In this last case, preselected applicants must comply with the instructions by the French Embassy in order to secure the co-funding.

Timeline

  • This year, the call for applications is open between mid April 2022 and 16 October 2022 at 23:59 SA time.

  • Interview of the eligible candidates: November 2022Results: end of November/early December 2022
  • Specific programme in South Africa (online french courses and possibly internship): February 2023 – July 2023
  • Departure to France: Early September 2023

Forward is designed to equip the next generation of young talent with must-have practical skills to succeed in the future of work. It is a free online learning program focusing on the leadership, business, and digital skills that are relevant and transferrable across industries and roles.

Forward’s three-level, virtual learning program offers you access to McKinsey’s cutting-edge content and a community of peers. It equips you with practical skills and tools to apply throughout your career. Forward is launching in Africa, with plans to expand to other regions soon.

Eligibility criteria

To access Forward, you must meet the following criteria:

Foundation level

Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) Rwanda Second Cohort of Digital Champions and Business Coaches.

DOT Rwanda is a youth-led movement of daring social innovators who have the tools, knowledge, and networks to create opportunities and transform their own communities. We support youth to become innovators and leaders, and to create and apply digital solutions that have a positive impact in their communities.

DOT Rwanda is seeking a second cohort of exceptional Digital Champions and Business Coaches to  serve under the DOT Rwanda’s Daring to Shift (D2S) Project under the Global Affairs Canada partnership. D2S is aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals and contributes to the Rwanda National Strategy for Transformation I (NST1).

Selected Digital champions and Business Coaches will deliver learning programs and coaching to business owners with micro, small and informal businesses (70% of women) to help them improve their business skills, increase their confidence, integrate new digital tools and technologies to improve the efficiency of their business operations.

This is an exciting professional development opportunity for youth looking to grow their leadership abilities, knowledge of their community, and their visibility as leaders.

Requirements:

  • Rwandan citizen and aged between 18-30 years;
  • Be unemployed, recent university and college graduate;
  • Be a young community leader;
  • Resident of one of the following regions and committed to work in the region or one year collaborating remotely or face -to-face with peer youth and young entrepreneurs:

Duties

  • Incumbent provides customer service and guidance to Consulate American employees, and their families, on personal shipments.
  • Coordinates and serves as point of contact for official shipments for six agencies at post under Chief of Mission Authority, the American Employee Recreation Association, and American International School of Lagos and Abuja.
  • Incumbent is familiar with shipping contracts and regulations pertaining to the Department of State (DOS) 14 FAM.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in shipping and transportation or logistics management is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Standard knowledge of shipping regulations and procedures.
  • Standard knowledge of Nigerian government rules and regulations of transportation and customs clearance procedures – inbound/outbound shipments and knowledge of functions of customs and Nigerian government agencies at Nigerian air/seaports.

Education Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school is required.

Evaluations:

  • This may be tested. Please specify your level of proficiency in the language listed.

Language:

  • Fluent in speaking/reading/writing of English is required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain contacts with contractors, customs, and host government administrative officials.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel, ability to interpret technical contract terms and DOS shipments regulations.
  • Must be able to articulate shipping policies/procedures to Lagos and American employees.
  • Must have a valid, current license (category D).
