Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) Scholarships

The AIG Scholarships are targeted at graduates between the ages of 25 and 35 with strong intellectual capability, outstanding academic achievements, leadership skills and a passion to contribute to the development of Africa’s public sector.

Eligibility and Requirements

To be eligible for consideration for the award of an AIG Scholarship, you must:

Be a citizen of Nigeria or Ghana
Be between the ages of 25 and 35 years (must not be 36 years old by December 31, 2019)
Have a first-class or second-class upper undergraduate degree with honours (or equivalent international qualifications), as a minimum, in any discipline. For applicants with a degree from the USA, the minimum GPA sought is 3.7 out of 4.0
Be preferably top 10% of graduating class (First, Second or Master’s Degree) – evidence to be provided
Provide evidence of game-changing leadership and resultant impact
Show skills and interests outside of academics (evidence to be provided)

DAAD Scholarships for Development-Related Postgraduate

The scholarships offer foreign graduates from development and newly industrialized countries from all disciplines and with at least two years’ professional experience the chance to take a postgraduate or Master’s degree at a state or state-recognized German university, and in exceptional cases to take a doctoral degree, and to obtain a university qualification (Master’s/PhD) in Germany.

Duration: 12 to 36 months (dependent on study programme).

Eligibility and Requirements

Graduates with at least two years professional experience
Candidates fulfill the necessary academic requirements and can be expected to successfully complete a study programme in Germany (above-average result for first academic exam – top performance third, language skills)
Candidates have a Bachelor degree (usually a four-year course) in an appropriate subject

Candidates can prove their motivation is development-related and be expected to take on social responsibility and initiate and support processes of change in their personal and professional environment after their training/scholarship

Benefits of the DAAD scholarship

Depending on academic level, monthly payments of 850 euros for graduates or 1,200 euros for doctoral candidates
Payments towards health, accident and personal liability insurance cover
Travel allowance, unless these expenses are covered by the home country or another source of funding

Individual scholarships exclusively for Postgraduate courses in Germany that are listed on the “List of all Postgraduate courses with application deadlines”.

How to Apply for Gani Fawehinmi Scholarship 2019

All interested and qualified candidates should submit an Application Letter of not more than two (2) pages. The Letter must include the name of the candidate, course and year of study, state of origin and why the candidate believes that he or she should be given the award.

The Application Letter must be accompanied by:

A photocopy of the candidate’s current identity Card
A letter from the candidate’s current head of Department, including correct information on the candidate’s CGPA for the last academic session
A letter from the Registrar certifying that the candidate is a student of the institution
A copy of the candidate’s registration form for the current semester; and
Two (2) current passport photographs.

Precious Cornerstone University (PCU) Promoter’s Scholarship

Precious Cornerstone University invites application for The Promoter’s Scholarship from all newly admitted undergraduate students and from students seeking admission to Precious Cornerstone University, Ibadan for the 2019/2020 session irrespective of nationality, state of origin, tribe, gender or religion.

About the Scholarship

The PCU Promoter’s Scholarship is a highly competitive Scholarship endowed by the University Chancellor, Bishop Francis Wale. It is part of the institution’s support services to exceptionally brilliant but indigent student who otherwise may no be able to afford University tertiary education.

The Scholarship will be offered on an annual basis to a newly admitted students and could be held, subject to satisfactory performance, for the duration of a beneficiary’s programme of study, provided such a student is also in good standing in character and leadership qualities.

Who can apply for PCU Promoter’s Scholarship?

Applicants for the scholarship must satisfy the following criteria:

Candidates can only apply once in an academic session: that is, Candidates that have applied in previous batch(es) of the 2019/2020 Promoter Scholarship are not eligible to apply again in subsequent batches until the next academic session.
Must have 5 O’ Level Credits or equivalent in English, Mathematics and other three relevant subjects to the area of study at only one sitting.
Minimum of 140 in 2019 JAMB is relevant subjects to area of study.
Must have registered/have been admitted/accepted offer as a student of PCU.
Performs satisfactorily in the University Scholarship Screening Examination; and
Maintains a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.50 to qualify for annual renewal of the Scholarship.
