Federal Scholarship Board 2021/2022 Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship

Federal Ministry of Education (Federal Scholarship Board)  2021/2022 Application Portal is now open – We are using this medium to invite interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2021 / 2022 Federal Government Scholarship Awards for:

Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Award 2021 / 2022

BEA Scholarship Eligible for

  • Undergraduate (UG) studies tenable in Russia, Morocco, Algeria, Serbia, Hungary, Egypt, Tunisia, Turkey, Cuba, Romania, Japan, Macedonia; and
  • Postgraduate (PG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were obtained from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, Turkey, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, e.t.c.

Fields of Study for BEA Scholarship

  • Undergraduate level – Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), etc.; and
  • Postgraduate level (Masters Degree and PhD) in all fields.

Qualification and Requirements for BEA Scholarship

Undergraduate Scholarships:

  • All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of Five (5) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics. Certificates should not be more than two (2) years old (2019 & 2020) for Non-African Countries and for African countries the age of certificate is one year (2020) only. Age limit is from 17 to 20 years

Postgraduate Scholarships:

  • All applicants for Postgraduate degree courses must hold a  First  Degree with 1st Class or at least 2nd  Class Upper Division. The applicants who are previous recipients of  Foreign Awards must have acquired at least two (2) years post qualification experience or employment practice in Nigeria. All applicants must have completed N.Y.S.C. Programme and the age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D.
  • N.Y.S.C discharge or exemption certificates only are  accepted; and
  • Evidence of readiness to be released by an employer.

General Note For all Applicants

  • Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one year foreign Languare course of the country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction;
  • The required certificates for candidates applying for Bachelor in Imamat, Quran Teaching Professor and Iman Preacher Training for Islamic Religious studies in Algeria is WASSCE / WAEC and no other certificate is accepted;
  • All applicants for Hungarian Scholarship can apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference; and must visit the website: www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu  which will hopefully be opened between October and November, 2020
  • Complete the application form online
  • All applicants for Russia Postgraduate Scholarship must have acquired their 1st Degree in Russia;
  • All Applicants to upload their certificates online;
    • Undergraduate (UG): WAEC / WASSCE, Birth Certificate, Indigene letter.
    • Postgraduate (PG): 1st Degree Certificate, Birth Certificate, WAEC / WASSCE, Indigene letter & NYSC discharge Certificate.

NB: Candidates nominated by the Board will be required to submit to Federal Scholarship Board the following:

  • Authenticated copies of academic certificates;
  • Data page of current International passport;
  • Specified Medical Reports from Government hospitals
  • National Identity Number (NIN)
  • Police Clearance Certificate where necessary.

All qualified candidates are advised to:

  • Visit Federal Ministry of Education’s website www.education.gov.ng and click on “Federal Scholarship Board” ICON on the Home Page:

  • Print the completed Application Form.

Note: This particular application does not attract any processing fee. Therefore, beware of fraudsters!

  • Applicants must demonstrate a track record of leadership and service within their community
  • Applicants are able to present economic circumstances which show they lack financial means to pursue higher education in their home country or elsewhere
  • Applicants must want to study one of the eligible degree programmes at the University of Edinburgh
  • Applicants must qualify academically for admission to the degree programme of their choice
  • Applicants should not have completed a postgraduate degree previously and should not be enrolled at a separate university while on scholarship

The Application Window for the 2021/22 Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) Scholarships is now open and closes on Thursday, October 15, 2020.

The AIG Scholarships are targeted at graduates between the ages of 25 and 35 with strong intellectual capability, outstanding academic achievements, leadership skills and a passion to contribute to the development of Africa’s public sector.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for consideration for the award of an AIG Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of Nigeria or Ghana
  • Be between the ages of 25 and 35 years (must not be 36 years old by December 31, 2020)
  • Have a first-class or second-class upper undergraduate degree with honours (or equivalent international qualifications), as a minimum, in any discipline. For applicants with a degree from the USA, the minimum GPA sought is 3.7 out of 4.0
  • Be preferably top 10% of graduating class (First, Second or Master’s Degree) – evidence to be provided
  • Provide evidence of game-changing leadership and resultant impact
  • Show skills and interests outside of academics (evidence to be provided).

Learn Africa Program 2020 (For Women)

The program Learn Africa aims to promote the transfer of knowledge, exchange and training of African female students through scholarships offered by Spanish universities.

Since 2013 and up to now, 153 African female students from 34 countries have been beneficiaries of this program and have studied different subjects and levels at 40 Spanish universities, 1 Portuguese and 2 educational centers in Morocco.

Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship

Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK.

These scholarships are offered under six themes:

  1. Science and technology for development
  2. Strengthening health systems and capacity
  3. Promoting global prosperity
  4. Strengthening global peace, security and governance
  5. Strengthening resilience and response to crises
  6. Access, inclusion and opportunity

Eligibility and Qualification

To apply for these scholarships, you must:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2020
  • By September 2020, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours standard, or a second class degree (2:2) and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree). The CSC would not normally fund a second UK Master’s degree. If you are applying for a second UK Master’s degree, you will need to provide justification as to why you wish to undertake this study
  • Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship

Delta State University, DELSU 2019/2020 postgraduate entrance examination date and how candidates can successfully print their qualifying exam seat number is now out online.

This is to properly notify all candidates who applied for admission into the Delta State University (DELSU) Postgraduate Programmes for the 2019/2020 academic session, that the management has officially announced the date for the qualifying examination and they have also activated the online portal where candidates can print their examination seat number.

How to Print DELSU Postgraduate Entrance Exam Seat Number.

  1. Click on https://www.delsu.edu.ng/printpgseat.aspx.
  2. Type in your registration number in the provided space.
  3. Click on ‘Print’  button to access your seat number.
  4. Print out and take to the exam hall.

Lagos State Scholarship Board grants Scholarship awards to deserving indigenes in various tertiary institutions for full time studies in order to assist these students financially.  

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Applicant must be a Lagos State Indigene studying in any tertiary institutions across the country
  • All applicants must have gained full time admission into an accredited Nigerian tertiary Institution for postgraduate studies (Masters or Doctorate).
  • Where applicant has obtained an upper credit in Higher National Diploma (HND), he/she must present evidence of completion of postgraduate diploma (PGD.

How to apply for Lagos State Postgraduate Scholarship Award

  • All applicants are required to make a Payment of N2,000.00 for Local Scholarship Revenue Office of the Lagos State Scholarship Board.
  • Then take the payment confirmation receipt to the Lagos State Scholarship Board to secure their secret voucher pins for online application. Application will not be processed without evidence of consolidated payment confirmation slip.
  • Ensure you correctly fill in the application form and click on “Apply Now” button to complete your application.

Holland Scholarship 2020/2021

This scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as well as several Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.

The scholarship amounts to € 5,000. You will receive this in the first year of your studies. Please note that this is not a full-tuition scholarship.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Your nationality is non-EEA.
  • You are applying for a full-time bachelor’s or master’s programme at one of the participating Dutch higher education institutions.
  • You meet the specific requirements of the institution of your choice. You can find these on the website of the institution.
  • You do not have a degree from an education institution in the Netherlands.
