Select the fruit you want to use to make the drink (pineapple, berries, banana etc.)

How to Make a Smoothie with Frozen Fruit

Buy your fresh ripe fruits, slice them, and put them in freezer bags or bowls with cover, place in the freezer to freeze them. Fruit can be frozen for up to 9 months.

Step 2

Prepare your blender- It is more convenient to use a blender when preparing your drink, because it achieves smoother consistency.

Step 3

Add the Fruit, Liquid and Dairy (in the blender)

For the fruit

After selecting the fruit, cut them into smaller pieces and place in the blender

For the liquid in your smoothie recipe, use 1 cup of:

  • Fruit juice
  • Juice blend
  • Coconut water
  • Water

Then add 1 cup of:

  • Milk or dairy-free milk substitute (plain or flavored)
  • Yogurt (plain or flavored)

Measure in a glass measuring cup and add both mixtures (liquid and dairy) to the fruit in the blender.

Step 4

You may want to add thickener to your smoothie to give it a fuller look. This is optional

  • You can use frozen fruit instead of fresh fruit
  • Add banana or avocado to your smoothie (Avocado, Mango, pumpkin)

Add ice cubes (optional)

Blend it- Ensure you have put the lid on the blender, turn it on, place it to blend at medium speed. As the blender gradually does its work on the fruit you can increase the speed. When you achieve the required texture, you can put it off.

Miss Deborah Onitilo of New Chrisfield College, Ikorodu, Lagos was declared the overall winner of the 2018 Mike Okonkwo Essay Competition for Secondary School students.

Miss Ashley Davidson of Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls, Ikeja emerged the First runner-up.

The second runner-up position went to Master Ferdinand Esigbone-Omagbemi and Miss Ireoluwa Fagbemi of Roshallom International School, Lagos.

The 2019 Mike Okonkwo essay competition registration is on, all interested secondary school students are hereby informed to follow the instructions contained in this post to participate.

The topic for the 16th Edition of this essay competition is “Justice as an Instrument of Enduring Peace in Nation Building”.

How to participate in the 2019 Mike Okonkwo National Essay Competition

Interested Secondary School Students are to write an Essay of maximum of 2000 words on the topic above.

Also attach a Passport Photograph of the Student, Full Name, Address, Contact Telephone Number, Class, School and Name and Telephone contact of the Principal.

The essay could be submitted through email. Send the required documents and essay via mail to essay@trem.org or by post to The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) International Headquarters, Obanikoro/ Anthony Oke Bus Lagos.

First Runner Up- Seventy Five Thousand Naira Only (N75,000), plaque and school gets two set of desktop computers and a printer.

Second Runner Up– Fifty Thousand Naira Only (N50,000), plaque and school gets one desktop computer.

The aptitude test for the Nigerian Navy 2019 recruitment is on Saturday the 13th of April, 2019.

Venue and Time for NIGERIAN NAVY 2019 RECRUITMENT APTITUDE TEST

The test would be conducted in the 30 Centres across Nigeria. Ensure you know the state you registered for the recruitment exercise. Candidates are to report by 08:00 AM at their chosen centres selected during the online registration as indicated against their names.

Candidates will not be allowed to write the Aptitude Test in any centre other than their chosen centre.
