The Margaret McNamara Educational Grants (MMEG) provides grants to women from developing countries to help further their education and improve their lives.

The MMEG is one of the few organizations who provide financial assistance to women. In past years, grants of up to US$15,000 have been awarded in the US/Canada program, and US$7,000 in the Africa, Latin America and Trinity programs.

Margaret McNamara Educational Grants (MMEG)

Our organization draws inspiration from Margaret McNamara, and her vision of education and gender equality. Margaret used her influence as wife of Robert McNamara, the World Bank’s fifth President, to advocate for the recognition and inclusion of these critical elements of development programs. Before her death, she was awarded the highest civilian distinction in the United States, the Medal of Honor, in recognition of her important contributions.

Benefits of MMEG Masters Scholarship

  • Grants of up to US$15,000 have been awarded in the US/Canada program, and US$7,000 in the Africa, Latin America and Trinity programs.

Requirements And Eligibility for MMEG Masters Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be national of a country listed on the MMEG Country Eligibility List
  • Be Female
  • Already be enrolled full-time or part-time (minimum of 2 courses per semester or term) at one of the universities on this list.
  • Be enrolled for at least one academic semester (half year) following the award of the MMEG grant in December (the term between January and July 2023);
  • Plan to graduate no later than three years following the award of the MMEG grant;
  • Hold a study permit for South Africa if applying from an eligible country other than South Africa.

East Tennessee State University Scholarships, which is fully funded and sponsored by the East Tennessee State University is presently accepting applications from all eligible students.

The East Tennessee State Scholarships

The ETSU International Students Academic Merit Scholarship is a scholarship program offered by East Tennessee State University to attract new international students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees.

This program reflects ETSU’s commitment to diversity and improving social, economic, environmental, and health conditions. Recipients of the scholarship receive coverage for 50% of their tuition and maintenance fees.

ETSU is a public university located in Johnson City, Tennessee, and is part of the Tennessee Board of Regents system, which is the sixth-largest system of public education in the country.

ETSU is also the fourth-largest university in the state.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must complete the application process for either ETSU undergraduate or graduate admissions, and possess or intend to obtain an F-1 or J-1 student visa (information on F-1 visa or J-1 visa is available).

Furthermore, applicants must exhibit a commendable academic history.

Award Process

All applicants who fulfill the following requirements will be evaluated for the scholarship:

1. A minimum high school GPA of 3.0 on the US 4.0 scale (for freshman applicants).

2. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on the US 4.0 scale (for undergraduate transfer and graduate applicants).

3. Applicants who meet the scholarship criteria will be informed of the award in their admission letter.

To accept the scholarship, undergraduate students must complete and submit a scholarship acceptance form during the new student check-in process.

Scholarship Value per School Year

Undergraduate students: $12,500.

Graduate students: $11,500.

Award Terms and Conditions

For undergraduate students, the scholarship may be renewable for up to 8 semesters as long as they continue to meet the minimum eligibility requirements.

Graduate students may receive the scholarship for up to five semesters if they are pursuing a master’s degree or a duration equivalent to their program.

It’s important to note that the scholarship cannot be combined with other scholarships that cover tuition costs, including Creative Arts, Honors in Discipline, Grad Assistantship, Graduate Tuition Scholarship, Government funding, Fulbright grants, etc.

The scholarship cannot be applied when students are paying in-state or Erate tuition.

Students Ineligible for the Merit Scholarship.

The scholarship is not available to:

1. Students who are pursuing a second Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

2. Graduate students who are receiving a graduate assistantship or tuition scholarship.

3. Students who are presently obtaining any other ETSU scholarship that covers tuition fees.

4. Students who are applying for the M.D. and PharmD programs.

5. Students who are not in legal F-1 or J-1 status.

The scholarship programme “Leadership for Africa” (LfA) aims to support the academic qualification and advancement of young refugees and national scholars from Chad, DR Congo, Niger, Nigeria, and Togo at higher education institutions in Germany. In times of conflicts and displacement in various African countries, this program intends to contribute to the education of future leaders, who will be essential for the further development of their home countries. “Leadership for Africa” offers scholarships for Master’s studies in Germany to qualified applicants in all fields of study except for Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Arts and Architecture. All “Leadership for Africa” scholarship holders benefit from a complementary training program in good governance, civil society and career development. The mandatory program must be completed in addition to the regular studies.

Requirements And Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree at the time of application which meets the requirements of German universities for entering a Master’s degree.A Bachelor’s degree of at least 2nd class upper division level is required
  • As a rule, not more than 6 years should have passed since the completion of the last academic degree
  • Good English or good German language skills
  • For Refugees: Copy of Refugee ID card issued before 03.04.2022.

The program targets two groups:
1) Highly qualified refugees who hold refugee status and fulfill the necessary qualifications for Master’s studies in Germany.
Applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

  • Holding refugee status in their host countries, being granted before 3rd of April, 2022
  • Country of asylum must be either Chad, DR Congo, Niger, Nigeria, or Togo
  • Completed Bachelor’s degree at the time of application

2) Highly qualified graduates from Chad, DR Congo, Niger, Nigeria, or Togo who fulfil the necessary qualifications for Master’s studies in Germany.
Applicants must fulfil the following conditions:

  • Citizenship of either Chad, DR Congo, Niger, Nigeria, or Togo
  • Country of residence is Chad, DR Congo, Niger, Nigeria, or Togo
  • Completed Bachelor’s degree at the time of application

Benefits

The scholarship includes:

  • German language course (up to 6 months) in Germany before the start of the university studies
  • Tuition-free M.A. or M.Sc. degree program at a public or state-recognized university in Germany starting in winter term 2024 (September/October 2024)
  • Additional mandatory training program LEAD!

Duration of the funding

Generally, selected candidates will start their German language course in April 2024 at the earliest and take up their studies at a German institution of higher education by approx. October 1st, 2024. The duration of funding is determined by the standard period of study of the chosen program. In general, eligible Master’s programs require two years of full-time study.

Value

  • German language course (up to 6 months) in Germany before the start of the study programme, including the coverage of the test fees for a German language certificate (TestDaF or DSH test), pocket money and accommodation (only during the language course). The DAAD decides whether to fund participation and for how long depending on German language skills and study requirements. Participation in a language course is compulsory.
  • Monthly scholarship rate payments of 934 EURO
  • Adequate health, accident, and private/personal liability insurance in Germany
  • Travel allowance
  • Yearly study allowance
  • Additional mandatory training program LEAD!
  • If applicable, monthly rent subsidy and monthly allowance for accompanying family members (spouse and/or children)
    Please note that family reunions may be time-delayed or even not be possible during the duration of the scholarship, due to the duration of the visa processes for some home or host countries.

Selection

  • A pre-selection will take place based on the submitted application documents. Only complete applications with all mandatory documents will be considered. Pre-selected candidates will be invited to an (digital) interview with an independent selection committee of university professors.
  • In addition to previous achievements in university (Bachelor’s degree), language skills and the general motivation, the main selection criterion is a convincing description of the planned studies in Germany and the suitable choice of study programs in the DAAD form « Study course profile ».
  • To ensure equal opportunities, social criteria such as special life circumstances, migration background or students from non-academic families can play a role. Criteria such as social engagement about which you can provide information in the application form are also taken into account.

Many scholarships are available at the University of Mississippi thanks to the generous donations of alumni and friends of the university.

Incoming freshmen who want to be considered for scholarships must complete an online Special Programs & Scholarships Application and a University of Mississippi Admissions Application.

Transfer students should fill out an application for admission to the University of Mississippi, as well as the online Community College Transfer Scholarship Application and a transcript with three semesters of grades.

To be considered for scholarships, applicants must be accepted to The University of Mississippi. This list excludes several honours given by departments and professional schools.

Scholarship eligibility, requirements, and amounts are subject to change without notice at any moment.

Listed below are the Ole Miss Scholarships:

1. W.R. Newman Scholarship

The Ole Miss Foundation Scholarship is a program that provides financial assistance exclusively to first-year students who reside in Mississippi.

To be considered for the scholarship, students must demonstrate strong academic performance and exhibit leadership qualities.

Recipients of the scholarship will receive a total of $40,000 over four years. The application deadline for this prize is January 5th, and it is regarded as one of the Ole Miss Foundation Scholarships.

2. Arabic Language Program Scholarships

The scholarship provides a stipend of $2,500 to eligible students during their first three years of college. To qualify, students must demonstrate a strong desire to achieve a high level of proficiency in Arabic.

The program also offers an opportunity for students to earn 2.5 credits while studying in Jordan or Morocco. Interested candidates must submit their applications by January 5th.

3. Scholarships at Community College

Ole Miss offers several scholarships to students transferring from community colleges. One of these scholarships is the Lyceum Scholar Award, which provides complete coverage for the last two years of the B.A. program.

Only students based in Mississippi are eligible, and applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have completed at least 48 transferable credit hours.

In addition, community college students can apply for other scholarships, such as the Mississippi Community College Advantage Scholarship, using the same application.

To be eligible for this grant, students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and come from families with an annual income of less than $30,000.

All applicants must also be eligible for the Pell Grant. A total of 25 of these awards are available each year.

Interested students must register by March 1st and complete the FAFSA application.

HEC Scholarships 2023, which is fully funded and sponsored by Higher Education Commission (HEC) is presently accepting applications from eligible students.

The HEC Scholarships 2023

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan is providing scholarships to Pakistani students who wish to pursue Master’s and Ph.D. degree programs.

The scholarships cover a wide range of courses and fields of study, offering Pakistani nationals the opportunity to study at some of the world’s top 25 institutions.

This scholarship is especially advantageous as students will have the opportunity to study in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, China, Switzerland, Japan, and Hong Kong.

The duration of the scholarship for Master’s degree programs is two years, while for Ph.D. degree programs, it is four years.

This scholarship is a great chance for Pakistani students to advance their academic careers and pursue their dreams.

Eligibility Criteria

The HEC scholarship is open to applicants from all regions of Pakistan, regardless of gender.

Applicants should not be currently receiving any other scholarship program, and the scholarship is available for both Master’s and Ph.D. programs.

CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship in Philippines, which is fully funded and sponsored by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED Philippines), is presently accepting applications from eligible students.

CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship in Philippines

The CHED-Tulong Dunong scholarship program aims to provide financial assistance to Filipino students who are facing financial challenges in pursuing their undergraduate degrees in college.

It is offered by the Commission on Higher Education, and is available for both private and public higher education institutions, covering all degree programs.

This scholarship program is part of CHED’s long-term development plan to ensure “Access and Equity” for all students, by establishing and maintaining scholarship, grant-in-aid, and loan programs for deserving students.

To qualify for the scholarship, students must have passed the last two semesters of their degree and be enrolled in identified priority courses in duly authorized public or private colleges.

Financial Benefits of the CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship

The financial support provided to students includes the full amount of tuition fees up to a maximum of Php12,000.00 per academic year.

Additionally, there are other financial assistance programs available, such as the Full Merit Program which offers P15,000 per semester, the Half Merit Program which offers P7,500 per semester, and the Study Now Pay Later Plan which also provides P7,500 per semester.

Eligibility Criteria for the CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must be a citizen of the Philippines.
  2. Must have completed high school and earned units in college, or must be a passer of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) or the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT).
  3. The family or gross income of the applicant must not exceed Three Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP 400,000.00).
  4. Must not have already completed any graduate programs.
  5. Applicants are allowed to apply for only a single CHED scholarship or financial assistance program.

Required Documents for the CHED-Tulong Dunong Scholarship

When applying for the CHED-Tulong Dunong scholarship program for Filipino students, applicants are required to submit the following documents:

  1. Completed CHED StuFAPs Application (OSS Form 01)
  2. Certified copy of their High School Report Card for the third year, and grades for the first three grading periods for the fourth year
  3. The latest Income Tax Return (ITR), or a Certificate of Tax Exemption, or a Copy of Contract/Proof of Income of parents/guardian from the Bureau of Internal Revenue
  4. Certificate of Good Moral Character from their high school principal/guidance counselor.
