Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Scholarship – Apply. Applications are now open for the Ghana national Petroleum Corporation Scholarship Program for 2023/2024. Check the application procedures and requirements.

The GNPC Foundation is offering a limited number of undergraduate scholarships for the 2023/2024 academic year to eligible Ghanaian students.

These scholarships are for degree courses and can be taken at accredited public tertiary institutions in Ghana.

The scholarship includes coverage for tuition fees, living expenses, book allowance, and dissertation/project allowance.

Scholarship Cover

Expenses covered by the scholarship include:

1. Round-trip airfare between your home country and the country of study.

2. Approved tuition fees.

3. Stipend for living expenses.

4. Book allowance.

5. One-time allowance for warm clothing, if applicable.

6. Allowance for dissertation expenses.

7. The scholarship includes funding for the cost of conducting overseas fieldwork, which usually covers the expenses of one economy class return airfare to the location of the fieldwork, subject to approval.

Requirements And Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the GNPC Foundation undergraduate scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be Ghanaian citizens.
  • Be admitted to a degree program in Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Special-Needs Education at an accredited public tertiary institution in Ghana.
  • Hold at least a second-class upper degree for master’s applicants or a relevant postgraduate qualification for PhD applicants.
  • Be permanently resident in Ghana.
  • Be available to start their studies by the start of the academic year they are applying for.
  • Not be pursuing a PhD or master’s degree at the time of application.

Preference for Scholarship

Federal Government SDG Scholarship Portal 2023/2024 – Apply. The Federal Government of Nigeria SDG Scholarship program is now open for applications. See how to apply below and the requirements.

The scholarship can only be used in Nigeria and will be valid from the start of the academic session. It cannot be used concurrently with any other award, and it is not applicable to part-time studies..

Modifying the chosen course or transferring to a different institution is not permitted.

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support to the recipient for both institutional charges and fees, as well as personal upkeep.

Please note that the SDGs Scholarship is exclusively for female candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for Nigerian Award/SDG

Prospective Postgraduate students must hold a minimum of a first degree with Second Class Honours Upper Division and must be registered as full-time students at a Federal or State University.

Other applicants, including those studying for undergraduate degrees, Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) and Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE);

Must also be registered as full-time students in their second year or beyond at a Federal or State University, Polytechnic, Monotechnic or College of Education.

Applicants for undergraduate scholarships, including those with disabilities, must have achieved a minimum Cumulative Grade Points Aggregate (CGPA) of 4.0 on a 5-point scale or its equivalent, or 5.0 on a 7-point scale.

The Harvard University Scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year is a fully-funded program available to international postdoctoral students who wish to pursue research studies.

The applicants who are selected will be awarded an annual stipend of $75,000.

The Academy Scholars Program is designed to recognize and support promising scholars early in their careers.

The Margaret McNamara Educational Grants (MMEG) provides grants to women from developing countries to help further their education and improve their lives.

The MMEG is one of the few organizations who provide financial assistance to women. In past years, grants of up to US$15,000 have been awarded in the US/Canada program, and US$7,000 in the Africa, Latin America and Trinity programs.

Our organization draws inspiration from Margaret McNamara, and her vision of education and gender equality. Margaret used her influence as wife of Robert McNamara, the World Bank’s fifth President, to advocate for the recognition and inclusion of these critical elements of development programs. Before her death, she was awarded the highest civilian distinction in the United States, the Medal of Honor, in recognition of her important contributions.

  • Be enrolled for at least one academic semester (half year) following the award of the MMEG grant in December (the term between January and July 2023);
  • Plan to graduate no later than three years following the award of the MMEG grant;

Requirements for CICOPS Scholarship Program

  • Applicants must have at least two years of either teaching experience or activity within international organizations and institutions.
  • Scholarships are designed for both junior and senior members of Universities in Developing Countries or members of major research centres and international organizations or institution with specific interest in the field of development studies.
  • CICOPS scholarships are reserved for research collaboration in the short term in order to encourage the mobility of researchers from developing countries. Applicants enrolled in a Doctoral or Postgraduate Course at an Italian University are not eligible to apply.

Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship of Embassy Recommendation is now open for the 2024 session. There are two ways to apply for a Japanese Government Scholarship: by applying to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) with a recommendation from a Japanese embassy or other Japanese diplomatic mission in your country, or by applying to the MEXT with a recommendation from a Japanese university.

Requirements for Japanese Government MEXT Scholarships

Research students You must be under 35 years of age and a college graduate (includes prospective graduates). Or you must have completed 16 years of schooling.
Teacher training students You must be under 35 years of age and a graduate of a college or teacher training college. You must have at least five years of active experience as a teacher in a primary, secondary or teacher training college in your country. (Please note that college and university teachers currently in active service are not considered for this scholarship).
Undergraduate students You must be at least 17 and under 25 years of age and have completed 12 years of school education or have completed courses in a school comparable to a high school (includes prospective graduates).
Japanese studies students You must be from 18 to 30 years old. You must be enrolled as undergraduate students in faculties or schools which major in Japanese language or Japanese culture in a university outside Japan at the time when they come to Japan and must be enrolled in the home institution at the time when they return to their home countries.
College of technology students You must be at least 17 and under 25 years of age and have completed school education comparable to a high school. (A minimum of 11 years beginning in primary school) education (includes prospective graduates).
Specialized training college students You must be at least 17 and under 25 years of age. And have completed 12 years of schooling or have completed school education comparable to a Japanese high school (includes prospective graduates).

Benefits of AFREXIMBANK Internship Program

Interns are expected to take care of their own upkeep during their internship program including accommodation, meals, transport, clothing, medical and group personal accident insurance.

However, the Bank will, on gratis terms, provide the following to successful interns:

  • Before commencement, coverage of reasonable return fare transport costs to their internship location using the most economic and direct routing from their institution of learning, in line with the Bank’s travel policy;
  • A monthly tax-free stipend of USD $800 payable at the end of each month, to help defray living costs;
  • Accommodation in a hotel chosen by the Bank (bed and breakfast only) for one week during the induction period, on arrival to the internship location for interns, basing on their previous location;
  • Transfer to the hotel on arrival and vice versa on departure at the end of a successful internship program; and
  • Relevant visa for the duration of the internship program, if so required.

  • Open to students with proven enrollment in full time undergraduate or post graduate study programs in a recognized institution of learning in the year of the internship are preferred. The Bank will be especially interested in candidates whose field of study is in the following fields: economics, business administration, finance, accounting, social sciences, statistics, law or related fields;
  • Nationals of the Bank’s member states;
  • Fluency in English or French and a working knowledge of the other. Knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese will be an added advantage; and
  • Candidates must be aged between 20 and 32 in the year in which they apply for the internship;
  • Any other applicants as may be approved by the President;
  • Children of Afreximbank staff are not eligible to participate in this program.

The internships are offered for up to a maximum of six months twice a year (June and December). Applications for internship are received throughout the year.

The African Union (AU) is a continental body consisting of the 55 member states that make up the countries of the African Continent. It was officially launched in 2002 as a successor to the Organization of African Unity (OAU, 1963-1999). The main objectives of the OAU were to rid the continent of the remaining vestiges of colonization and apartheid; to promote unity and solidarity amongst African States; to coordinate and intensify cooperation for development; to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Member States and to promote international cooperation.

African Union (AU) Internship Program 2023/2024

The AU internship program is a full-time engagement through which qualified individuals from diverse academic backgrounds are given the opportunity to gain professional exposure within the AU. As an organization which promotes respect for diversity and team work, we encourage all qualified individuals to apply. Applicants should have a keen interest in the work of the AU and demonstrate the ability to interact with individuals from various cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

PURPOSE: The program aims to expose participants to the workings of the AU at an early stage of their professional career and strengthen their personal and professional skills. It provides an avenue for participants to gain hands-on experience in various applicable fields, while learning in an intercultural environment.  The AU will further gain support from participants who possess adequate knowledge and skills in relevant areas and serve as a potential grooming ground for future African Leaders.

Requirements for AU Internship Program Qualification

The Program is open to applicants who are:

  • Nationals of the African Union’s Member States;
  • Students enrolled in full-time undergraduate (in final year of study)/ postgraduate study or graduates from a recognized institution of learning;
  • Fluent in one of the AU official working languages (Arabic, English, French or Portuguese, Kishwahili);
  • Applicants must be aged between 22 and 32 at the time of application;
  • Meet the requirements specified in the terms of reference.

Documents Required for Application

Candidates interested to apply for internship with the African Union Commission should kindly send the following document

  1. A motivation letter indicating what they expect to gain out of the internship program
  2. A copy of valid passport or national identity card
  3. Certified copies of relevant academic certificates
  4. Current curriculum vitae (CV)
  5. Recommendation letter for internship from the institution of learning that they are attending

University of Warwick WMG Excellent Scholarships 2023 – Apply. The university of Warwick is now inviting applications for the WMG Excellent Scholarship Program for 2o23. See how to apply below and the requirements.

Those who have a particularly strong academic and/or professional track record and are interested in being considered for a scholarship, should kindly submit their application within four weeks of receiving the offer, for consideration.

Applications will pass through reviews by the scholarship committee on a monthly basis and results will be communicated to you as soon as possible, with the first round of results being communicated by the start of February 2023. 

Benefits of University of Warwick Masters Scholarship

WMG Excellence Scholarships are awarded on a percentage reduction of the tuition fees, with awards ranging from 10% to 50% tuition fee discount.

Requirements for University of Warwick Masters Scholarship

To qualify for University of Warwick WMG Excellent Scholarships for International Students , you are expected to meet following eligibility conditions:

  • Applicants must hold an offer to study on a WMG full-time MSc course starting October 2023.
  • Applicants should have an excellent academic track-record and/or strong professional profile in order to qualify.
  • For conditional offer-holders, scholarship awards will also be conditional on achieving the awardee’s final predicted grade.
  • WMG Excellence Scholarships are for self-funded students only. NB: students with partial bursaries, on scholarship-loan schemes or partially funded by an external organization may also be considered. Awardees should inform the scholarship committee if they are in receipt of another scholarship or are later awarded other funding.
  • WMG Excellence Scholarships are awarded for study on UK full-time MSc programs only.
  • WMG Excellence Scholarships are paid towards tuition fees only and cannot be paid in cash or towards accommodation or maintenance costs.
  • WMG will award WMG Excellence Scholarships across all WMG full-time MSc programs to optimize nationality and gender diversity.

Important information

  • Please submit your scholarship application within four weeks of receiving your offer. Applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee on a monthly basis and the first set of results will be communicated by the middle of February 2023, and monthly thereafter.
  • Please note that the scholarship budget is limited – in order to maximize your chances of success, you should submit your MSc application as early as possible.

WMG reserves the right to amend the number and value of WMG Excellence Scholarships awarded
