AFDB Young Professionals Program (YPP)

The Young Professionals Program (YPP) targets high potential, best-in-class young professionals with a strong passion for Africa’s development. The YPP includes a rigorous program of activities including a learning Academy that prepares participants to be technical and professional leaders with notable impact.

The Program is for a period of three years; the first two years will be spent on mandatory rotational placements across the Bank’s various functions. The third-year rotation year will be spent in the Home Complex where the YP will graduate into a staff position.Only YPs who have completed the YP Academy and have exhibited high performance and high potential will be integrated into the Bank’s workforce.
The Professional and Personal Development Program is structured under the Young Professionals Learning Academy with specific learning interventions delivered in phases of 6 months each. These learning interventions serve to deepen technical knowledge and build leadership skills required for effective delivery of task functions andfuture roles in the Bank.The Learning academy also includes on- the job training that requires immersion into various functional areas of the Bank for hands-on experience in projects and various work assignments.

Qualifications and Requirements

The Young Professional Program targets motivated and high-potential individuals from our member countries. Applicants must meet the following conditions:

Be a citizen of a member country of the Bank.
Be 32 years of age or younger by 1st May 2021.
Possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in any discipline that is relevant to the business of the Bank, with outstanding academic credentials.
Have at least 3 years post graduate work experience in the areas related to the high priority areas (Hi-5s) as mentioned above.
Interested candidates with coding, e-development, animation and platforms designs and maintenance are required this year.
Demonstrable hands-on experience on the African continent and/or in other continent’s developing countries is a necessary requirement.
Have a passion for Africa’s development
Able to leverage knowledge, share and coach others. Work effectively in teams with displayed high adaptability to a diverse environment.
Strong analytical skills, an entrepreneurial drive, results-orientation and problem-solving capability.
High business acumen and innovative mindset.
Be proficient in the Bank’s working languages, either English and/or French.
Have skills that enable you work in a digital environment and embrace technology as it evolves.
Be willing to live in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire the Bank’s Headquarters, and any other country in Africa where the Bank may require your services.
Ability to travel continentally (20% of your time).

The Department for International Development (DFID) in UK is now accepting applications from candidates from low and middle income Commonwealth countries, for the 2020 Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships.

Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship

Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK.

These scholarships are offered under six themes:

Science and technology for development
Strengthening health systems and capacity
Promoting global prosperity
Strengthening global peace, security and governance
Strengthening resilience and response to crises
Access, inclusion and opportunity

Eligibility and Qualification

To apply for these scholarships, you must:

Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2020
By September 2020, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours standard, or a second class degree (2:2) and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree). The CSC would not normally fund a second UK Master’s degree. If you are applying for a second UK Master’s degree, you will need to provide justification as to why you wish to undertake this study
Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship
Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format

Qualifications and Requirements for Nigerian Navy DSSC Recruitment

Applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class Upper Division for holders of First degree and Upper Credit for HND holders. Computer literacy will be an added advantage in all fields.
Applicants must possess certificates of full registration with their respective statutory professional bodies in Nigeria.
Applicants who obtained credentials from foreign institutions should ensure the certificates are authenticated by the Federal Ministry of Education.
All applicants must present O’level West African Examination Certificate (WAEC), in addition to any other results such as NECO. Credit in Mathematics and English is compulsory.
NYSC discharge certificate or letter of exemption from NYSC is a compulsory requirement for enlistment.
Male applicants must not be less than 1.68 meters tall while female applicants must not be less than 1.65 meters tall.
Applicants should be between 22 and 28 years of age by 20 February 2020. Except Chaplains/Imams and Medical Consultants who should not be more than 30 years and 40 years respectively.
Serving personnel, Soldier/Rating/Airman, and other paramilitary services personnel must obtain a letter of attestation duly signed by the heads of their units.
Applicants will be shortlisted for a qualifying aptitude test. The date and time of the aptitude test will be communicated via this website.

c. Owerrinta Centre:

Nigerian Navy Finance and Logistics College, Owerrinta, Imo State.

d. Lagos Centre:

Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Navy Town Ojo.
Navy Town Secondary School, Navy Town Ojo.

e. Port-Harcourt Centre:

Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Borokiri.
AirForce Secondary School, 115 Special Operations Group, Air Force Base.

f. Sokoto Centre:

Army Day Secondary School, Giginya Barracks.

Documents Needed for Nigerian Navy DSSC Recruitment Aptitude Test

Applicants are to appear for the Aptitude Test with the following:

Photocopies of Degree and NYSC Discharge Certificate.
Parent/Guardian Consent Form.
Acknowledgement Form.
