Delta State Rural Youth Skill Acquisition Program (RYSA) – The Delta State Rural Youth Skill Acquisition Programme is designed to take the skill acquisition programmes to the rural youth population with the objectives to create income earning opportunities, stem youth restiveness, discourage rural-urban drift and grow local economy.

The target youths demography under this programme are semi-literate and non-literate youths, who have acquired skill training, needs start-up and fundamental business skills.

The RYSA programme has two training components as follows:

The Practical / Hands-on training: This entails training of beneficiaries of the programme to acquire further practical skills required for them to succeed in their chosen enterprises. This training will be carried out by Master Trainers designated across different communities in Delta State.

The Community Business School (CBS) training: The CBS is a mandatory programme for all RYSA beneficiaries to be undertaken once a week for eight weeks in the course of the practical / hands-on training programme.   1. Application forms for RYSA are available at the Ministry’s field offices across the 25 Local Government Areas of the State.
  2. Interested candidates must pick-up the application forms IN PERSON, fill and submit them within the stipulated timeline.
  3. Shortlisted candidates must undergo oral interviews and proficiency tests based on the skill area of choice.
  4. Applicants for RYSA must fill out and submit the guarantors’ form.
  5. Selected candidates must abide by the rules and regulations set by the Ministry of Youth Development.

PROGRAMME ADMINISTRATION FOR RYSA

  1. Interested candidates must pass the proficiency test in his/her chosen skill area to be eligible for the programme.
  2. Beneficiaries must complete the Refresher/CBS training before the Start-up Packs presentation.
  3. Candidates must pass the training completion proficiency test and Community Business School (CBS) training test before been awarded with certificate and given support.
  4. Successful Beneficiaries must subject themselves to the mentoring process of the Directorate for Youth Monitoring & Mentoring (DYMM).

START-UP PACKS

  1. The Start-up Packs consist of work tools and seed grant. The work tool component consists of physical equipment required for each skill-set given to successful trainees at the end of the training exercise.
  2. The seed grants will be given to the beneficiaries at the end of their training as support for start-up

How to Qualify for NYSC Senate List 2022/2023

Universities and Polytechnics always set a time for final year students to get screened ahead of their final Clearance. Graduating students are usually required to visit their School’s Records Units with documents like Course forms, School fees receipts, Admission Letters, FSLC/WAEC Results, etc, for documentation.

This is usually to make the student eligible for the final year Clearance by their School’s Senate, which would enable them be on the NYSC Mobilization List. Students who miss the chance to get screened before the clearance would have to wait for the next academic session to do so.

Kindly ensure you do the below listed things:

  • Complete your final year Clearance with your institution at the right time.
  • Register for NYSC at the Directorate of Students’ Affairs in your School.
  • Follow up your registration by checking with your institution to confirm your name before they send the list to NYSC.
  • Ensure that your name is on the JAMB matriculation list.

How to Check Your Name on NYSC Senate List 2023/2024

  1. Go to the NYSC Senate / Academic Board list portal via https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1/VerifySenateLists.aspx
  2. Select your institution
  3. Type your matriculation number
  4. Type your surname
  5. Enter your date of birth
  6. Click on the ‘SEARCH’ button to see your Mobilization status.

What to do if you Don’t Find Your Name on NYSC Senate List 2023/2024

If you’ve done all the above and find that your name is not on the portal, it is not the time to panic. Follow the steps below

  • Check JAMB LIST FOR NYSC MOBILIZATION HERE – if your details are found, proceed to the second point, if not, print the required documents either JAMB Admission Letter or Original Result. If it’s showing not admitted, kindly do JAMB Regularization.
  • Confirm your mobilization status from your school
  • Find out if your name is on Error List by checking your school – Student affairs unit
  • Correct the error and check back the NYSC Senate List
  • If your details are found on NYSC Senate List, do the last step
  • Proceed with your online NYSC Registration for Batch A, B or C either Stream I or Stream II

Note: if your details are not found on the NYSC Senate List and you are sure you’ve done all the necessary things as stated below, kindly exercise patience – as they could still be in the process of uploading them, and your name would likely be uploaded later.

Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Abuja

Job Summary

  • As the Operations Manager, you will report directly to the Director – Lake Chad Basin and work closely with the Director of Operations at HQ.
  • You will oversee the various support services for our teams in Nigeria.

Major Responsibilities
Human Resources:

  • Lead and coordinate national staff on-boarding and coordinate with HQ HR on international staff onboarding
  • Coordinate and monitor national staff performance monitoring, grievance management, etc.
  • Prepare national staff monthly payroll
  • Provide support to internal and external audit requests
  • Act as the in-country project management focal point for all HR
  • Support HQ in gathering and monitoring of relevant KPIs
  • Act as safeguarding focal point.

Legal and Compliance:

  • Ensure all necessary legal and regulatory documents are filed with national authorities to maintain INSO’s in-country registrations
  • Coordinate with HQ HR on all deployment/visits of international staff
  • Monitor compliance with national tax codes
  • Lead audit follow up and implement recommendations in all areas of Operations
  • Create a tracker for renewal of INSO registration documents as well as staff visas and work permits
  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent violations of legal guidelines and internal policies
  • Obtain visas, work permits, and residencies as required

Facilities and Asset Management:

  • Manage the entire scope of facilities management
  • Prepare and maintain all the country office’s leases and contracts with suppliers
  • Equip and maintain all staff facilities and vehicles
  • Establish and maintain a central asset register

Procurement and Logistics:

  • Enforce compliance with all Procurement and Logistics regulations
  • Oversee full implementation of procurement processes
  • Carry out supplier checks and vet them against anti-terror or sanction lists.
  • Manage and implement INSO fleet guidelines policy
  • Contribute to donor reporting in area of asset management / logistics / procurement.
  • Enforce all controls to prevent fraud and corruption
  • Carry out routine local market surveys for goods and services

Safety and Security:

  • Serve as the focal point for the Global Risk & Safety Manager.
  • Ensure appropriate steps are taken to safeguard INSO facilities, vehicles, and assets
  • Ensure drivers and guards are briefed on country safety and security protocols
  • Ensure new staff/consultants/visitors are oriented and trained on the Country Security Management Plan.
  • In coordination with the Global Safety & Risk Manager, meet deadlines for updates of the Country Security Management Plan (CSMP) and Security Risk Assessment (SRA)

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution.
  • At least 5 years of progressive Operations experience, at least 2 of which should be with an NGO or international organisation.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to set deadlines.
  • Proficient use of MS Office and experience with database management.

Desirable Characteristics:

  • Previous experience with logistics and procurement.
  • Experience as a user or admin of HRIS
  • Prior field experience in West Africa in a similar position a plus.
  • General knowledge of donor procurement regulations
  • Existing knowledge of INSO and affinity with its mission

Terms & Conditions
12-month renewable contract, €4,550 per month salary, 4 calendar days annual leave per month, 7 days of R&R every 10 weeks with a €1,250 R&R allowance each cycle, global medical coverage (excluding USA) and AD&D Insurance.
