  • Have a paper accepted at a top-tier computer science conference. We prefer to support conferences in research areas where Google has a strong interest. Please visit research.google.com for a list of areas.
  • Be the sole or joint first author of the accepted paper.
  • Google employees are not eligible to apply for Google scholarships. Persons who are (1) residents of embargoed countries, (2) ordinarily resident in embargoed countries, or (3) otherwise prohibited by applicable export controls and sanctions programs may not apply for this scholarship.

The Scholarships will be awarded to the most qualified persons based on application review. Every applicant will be notified of their status according to the time frames specified for the region.

The Educational Trust for southern Africa was founded in 1981 by the British Defence and Aid Fund for Southern Africa (BDAF), principally by Ethel de Keyser, director of BDAF and Canon John Collins, the founder of BDAF. After the passing of Canon Collins, the Trust was renamed the Canon Collins Educational Trust for southern Africa.

James Learmonth was an influential educational practioner in the UK who believed strongly that education was the key to greater inclusion, social stability and international co-operation. He also believed that teachers and educational leaders can only be effective if they continue learning. When James died of cancer in 2003, his wife, family and numerous colleagues and friends decided to establish the James Learmonth Scholarship Programme in his memory. The aim of this programme is to support teachers and educational leaders in Malawi to pursue studies in education.

Canon Collins Trust administers both scholarships in memory of James Learmonth and Elizabeth Bird.

This comprehensive research initiative strives to examine the ways in which African fashion producers employ knowledge, technology, capital, and resources to foster socioeconomic transformation. Traditionally, discourses on global production have overlooked the concept of lead firms in Africa due to limited perceptions of value. Consequently, this project aims to challenge these stereotypes, highlighting the continent’s rich landscape of creativity, innovation, and sustainability.

The chosen PhD researcher will utilize a mixed-methods case study approach, potentially including industry data analysis, surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observational studies. The project will concentrate on one or more African countries, augmenting the supervisors’ existing case studies in Nigeria and Kenya.

International political economy, creative and cultural studies

African nationals and be permanently resident in an African country;

  • Plan to commence a full-time MPhil/PhD programme at King’s College London in the 2023-24 academic year (Ideally we would like to candidate to start in October 2023 but by no later than January 2024).
  • Meet the academic requirements for enrollment for the PhD degree in the Faculty of Social Science and Policy at King’s College London.
  • You should hold or expect to obtain a High Merit or Distinction at Master’s level (or equivalent) in any subject.
  • Disciplinary areas of particular relevance would include but not be limited to: International Political Economy; Political Economy; Fashion Management; Business; Development Studies; Culture, Media & Creative Industries; Policy; Sociology; Geography; Social Sciences.
  • A strong interest in fashion and the creative economy (academic, professional, personal).
  • Good team-working, observational, organization and communication skills.
  • Experience of qualitative and quantitative methods.

Selection Process

Pre-selected candidates will then be invited for an interview. Successful candidates will receive an offer for PhD study and scholarship funding, after which they will need to apply via King’s Apply online application system

Requirements for DOF Scholarship Program

 To be eligible, Applicants must;

  • Be citizens and permanent residents of any African Nation
  • Be between the ages of 16 and 25 at the time of application submission.
  • Be eligible to receive a Nigerian student visa
  • Be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Have a record of exceptional performance at the secondary school level which is bench-marked by:
  1. At least 20 points above JAMB cut off points (for Nigerians only)
  2. 80% recorded average or 4.0GPA/5.0 in Secondary/High School Transcript
  3. Already have begun admission applications to Covenant or Landmark University

Selection Process

SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA

The David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship Programme selection process is a need dependent, merit based open competition. After the deadline, all eligible applications will be reviewed by a selection panel. Following this review, chosen finalists will be interviewed by the David Oyedepo Foundation team, through an online video conferencing platform. If advanced to the final round, applicant must provide;

  • Proof of application to Covenant or Landmark University
  • Proof of citizenship
  • All original copies of documents uploaded during application.

Selection panels will use the following criteria to evaluate applications (not in order of importance):

  • A proven record of superior scholastic ability Displayed financial need Outstanding character
  • A proven record of leadership and community development involvement
  • A commitment to influence home community with skills learned

McKinsey & Company is a United States-based management consulting firm, founded in 1926 by University of Chicago professor James O. McKinsey, that advises on strategic management to corporations, governments, and other organizations.

We invite first year undergraduate students who aspire to be future leaders, making an impact that matters and those excited about growth and development to apply for the McKinsey Future Leaders Prize. You will have the opportunity to receive mentorship, learn, network and interact with our consultants. You will also learn more about what consulting is about, understand the type of work McKinsey is doing in South Africa and the continent. Two winners will each win a R15 000 cash prize. Submit a 1000-1200 word essay on the below topic.

Topic: “Given the opportunity, what socio-economic problem in South Africa would you like to solve? What are the innovative ways would you go about solving it? “

MTN Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Students 2023/2024 – Apply. Applications are now open for the MTN Scholarship program. Interested persons should see how to apply below and the requirements.

The MTN Foundation scholarship scheme seeks to attract high performing full time students studying in public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics and colleges of education) in Nigeria. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students who might otherwise be unable to pay for their tertiary education and aims to recognize and reward academic excellence.

MTN Scholarships, a part of our Youth Development Cause, provides an annual platform for recognizing and rewarding dedicated, high performing students across Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions. We have curated three scholarship categories to cater to the diverse needs of our exceptional scholars

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS): Our flagship program since 2010, open to eligible 300 level students studying Science & Technology-related courses, in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). 300 successful students are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually till graduation, provided they maintain the required grades.

MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS): Launched in 2012 and targeted at eligible 200 and 300 level blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). 60 successful blind students are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually till graduation, provided they maintain the required grades.

Benefits of MTN MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS)

  • 300 successful students are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually till graduation, provided they maintain the required grades.

Requirements for MTN MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS)

  • STEM Students in Public Universities, and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class upper credit)
  • STEM Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
  • Direct Entry level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program. And must have secured admission into 300 level/3rd year in a Public University.

Benefits of MTN MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS)

  • 60 successful blind students will get scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually till graduation, provided they maintain the required grades.

Requirements for MTN MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS)

  • Blind Students in the Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5
  • Blind Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program. And must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
