JAMB Announces New Cut-Off Mark 2020- JAMB Meeting Latest Update

This is to notify all our readers especially the admission seekers, that JAMB has just announced a new cut-off mark after much deliberation at the JAMB stakeholders meeting.

JAMB Meeting Update 2021

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has set a new cut off mark for admission into higher institutions for the 2020 academic session.

This was disclosed at the JAMB policy meeting which was held online. The cut-off mark for admission into tertiary institutions is now 160 and above as opposed to 180 and above in previous year.

From the meeting, it was gathered that a total of 612, 557 candidates were offered admission in 2019 and about 510,957 admission spaces were unused by tertiary institutions in 2019.

The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has said that candidates waiting for their results (SSCE, WAEC, NECO, NAMTEB etc) will only be considered for admission when they are uploaded on its website.

The Minister of Education, has directed JAMB and tertiary institutions to proceed with the conduct of 2020/2021 admissions.

In line with this information, admission processes are expected to commence in August, 2020 based on the guidelines released by JAMB. It was also advised that candidates with older (previous years) SSCE result be considered first for admission.

JAMB CUT OFF MARK FOR ALL UNIVERSITIES

The JAMB cut off mark for universities is 160 and above. Please note that it is advisable to score higher as candidates with higher scores will be considered first.

JAMB CUT OFF MARK FOR ALL POLYTECHNICS

The JAMB cut off mark for polytechnics is 120 and above. Please note that it is advisable to score higher as candidates with higher scores will be considered first in top Nigerian polytechnics.

  • Go to JAMB UTME e-Registration website: http://www.jamb.org.ng/eFacility

  • Your result will be displayed to you, if your result is not yet out you will see a message like “You Do Not Have Any Result Yet“.

JAMB General Cut-Off Mark for UNIPORT 2020/2021

JAMB has set cut-off mark to 160, but most schools, in this case UNIPORT don’t accept 180 for all departments. That is why you would see candidates complaining that they scored 160 and were not given admission.

Candidates with higher score are considered first before those with lower scores. The higher the JAMB Score, the higher your chances of gaining admission.

UNIBEN Cut off Mark 2020/2021 and Departmental Cut off Point is out.

For you to be eligible to get the UNIBEN post utme screening form 2020, you must meet the requirements set by the school alongside JAMB. You must meet the required cut of mark for UNIBEN as well as the point needed for the course you wish to study.

Getting admission into UNIBEN is very competitive, candidates with higher JAMB score are considered first before those with lower scores. The higher the JAMB Score, the higher your chances of gaining admission.

Nigeria Police Academy 2020/2021 Admission Form 8th Regular Course- polac.edu.ng

The Nigeria Police Academy (NPA) 2020/2021 Admission Application form portal for the 8th Regular Course is online.

This is to inform the general public that the sale of online application forms for admission into the 8th Regular Course of degree programmes of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, will end on Sunday the 5th of July, 2020.  Admission into the Academy is opened to both male and female Nigerians of good character.

Nigeria Police Academy Qualifications and Requirements- POLAC

  • Candidates seeking admission into the Academy must be Nigerian citizens and must be between 17 and 22 years of age, and must have a height of not less than 1.67 Metres (5 Feet 6 Inches) if male, and 1.62 Metres (5 Feet 4 Inches) if female. In addition, male candidates must have an expanded chest size of not less than 91cm (36 Inches). All candidates must be free from any physical deformity or mental disability.
  • Candidates must have obtained a minimum of SIX (6) credits at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the National Examinations Council (NECO) or the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) at not more than 2 sittings and including a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics as well as subjects relevant to the candidate’s chosen course of study in the Academy.
  • Candidates must also obtain satisfactory scores in both the written examination and the interview and must pass physical and psychological tests of fitness.
  • SSCE STATEMENT OF RESULTS OR CERTIFICATES RELATING TO EXAMINATIONS TAKEN BEFORE 2013 WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

How to Apply for 2020/2021 Police Academy (POLAC) Admission

All interested and qualified candidates are to apply online, using the provided guide below.

  • Visit Nigeria Police Academy’s (NPA) Website www.polac.edu.ng
  • Obtain or generate Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) Code.

The RRR code obtained can be used to make payment of N3,500.00 through any commercial Bank Branch in Nigeria. Applicants must, in addition, apply through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board [JAMB] as well as sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

  • Applicants must, in addition, apply through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board [JAMB] as well as sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
  • Candidates need not select the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil as a University of choice in the JAMB form.
  • Only candidates who obtained the minimum UTME scores of 180 which is the Academy’s Cut-off mark in JAMB and purchased the Academy online application form will be eligible to sit for the Nigeria Police Academy Selection Examination.

How To Buy Nigeria Police Academy Admission Form 2020/2021

  • Applicants can pay for the admission application form online via the portal or via REMITA Retrieval Reference RRR at any Nigerian bank of choice. Ensure you have completed the previous step “CREATE AN ACCOUNT” to proceed.
  • To pay Online, Login to the application portal, choose ‘Pay Online’.
  • To pay via at any Nigerian bank of choice, login to the application portal, choose ‘Pay at Branch’

SELECTION EXAMINATION DATE, CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil Selection Examination, will be Pencil and Paper Based (PPB) and probably Computer Based Test (CBT) as the case may be.

The examination shall comprise of a General Paper (Section A) which is compulsory for all candidates.  It will cover areas such as general knowledge and current affairs, English Language and Mathematics.  Other sections are to be selected according to candidate’s Faculty of choice.

It will be conducted on Saturday the 8th August, 2020. Only candidates who meet the Academy’s cut-off mark of 180 in UTME and above will be eligible to sit for the Nigeria Police Academy Selection Examination at the 21 designated Centres.

Eligible candidates are to bring along to the examination venue their Acknowledgement Form, Examination Card, current JAMB Result Slip and two Postcard size photographs (3.5×5 Inches) which should show only from the chest upwards.  At the back of each of the two Postcard size photographs, the candidates must write their name, State of origin, Examination Centre and signature.

Please Note- Only candidates who are successful in the Selection Examination will be invited for the Nigeria Police Academy Selection Board screening and interview. The list of successful candidates will be published on the academy’s website and in some national newspaper.

WAEC GCE 2020 Result Second Series Checker| The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the 2020 GCE Results (January/February 1st Series WASSCE) for Private Candidates. 2020 GCE Results (August/September 2nd Series WASSCE) for Private Candidates.

Results are now available online.

Hint: You can only use your result checker 5 times, be careful.

How to Check WAEC GCE Result

  • Go to WAEC GCE Result checking portal via www.waecdirect.org.
  • Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number.  (This is your 7-Digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number eg. 4123456789)
  • Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year eg. 2019
  • Select the Type of Examination  i.e. PRIVATE CANDIDATE RESULT
  • Enter the Card Serial Number found on the reverse side of your Scratch card.
  • Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Scratch card
  • Click Submit and wait for the results window to come up.

PLEASE NOTE: The result checker PIN and Serial Number needed to check your result online is contained on your Smart Identity Card used during the conduct of the examination.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Do not laminate your ORIGINAL WAEC RESULT, instead keep it in a safe place. If you do, you have removed the authenticity of the result, so try as much as possible not to laminate it.

Get a good water proof file and store your result. As a matter of fact all important documents shouldn’t be laminated.

Do you have passion for nursing? this is your opportunity, as applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan,, School of Nursing, basic nursing programme for the 2020/2021 academic session.

UCH School of Nursing Admission Requirements:

Applicants should

  • be aged 17 ½ years and above,
  • possess the Senior Secondary School Certificate (WASSCE/NECO/SSCE) or GCE O’ Level or equivalent with at least 5 credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at not more than two (2) sittings OR NABTEB at one(1) sitting.

How to Apply for UCH Ibadan School of Nursing Admission:

Application form is available through the UCH SCHOOLS’ PORTAL at website https://portal.uch-ibadan.org.ng. Interested individuals are to do the following;

  1. Make a payment of a non-refundable fee of Seven Thousand, Seven Hundred Naira (N7,700.00) only through any commercial bank into University College Hospital, Ibadan T.S.A. Account- School of Nursing. Teller to be changed to receipt at UCH Accounts Department.
  2. Make a payment of Two Hundred Naira (#200.00) only into Oyo State Nursing & Midwifery Committee Account, First Bank Plc. 2019704292
  3. Present both the UCH receipt and First Bank teller for the payment of #200.00 at Room 6, School of Nursing to collect PIN (Personal Identification Number) for login and online application submission.
  4. Go to the portal on https://portal.uch-ibadan.org.ng, download the Applicants’ User Guide and enter your PIN (Personal Identification Number) to login and create your account.
  5. Follow instructions on the Applicants’ User Guide to input your data and submit your application online.
  6. Print 2 copies of your form and Photo card and submit for authentication at Room 6, School of Nursing

Method of Selection:

(i) Applicants shall be notified of the date, venue and time for Computer Based (CBT) Entrance Examination through their e-mail addresses and text messages

(ii) Only candidates with authenticated (stamped and signed) Photo cards shall be allowed into examination venue.

(iii) Only candidates who attain acceptable standard at the examination shall be invited for interview or considered for selection following interview.

How to become a certified Nurse in Nigeria

To become a nurse in Nigeria, there are two major options available to you, in order to achieve your dream.

School of Nursing Admission Form in Nigeria

First Option to become a certified Nurse in Nigeria

  • Apply to become a nurse using JAMB. Buy JAMB form fill it with your desired course of study (in this case nursing), write the exams, ensure you use the right subject combination (English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry).
  • Wait for JAMB result, ensure you score up to the approved cut-off mark for Nursing (click here to see the approved cut-off mark for Nursing in all schools in Nigeria).
  • Get POST UTME form for the school, write the exam/screening.
  • If you are admitted successfully, you can now undertake the professional course in Nursing. It is a 5 years course.

Second Option to become a certified Nurse in Nigeria

This second method is more straight forward than the first option. You do not need to take JAMB to gain admission using this method.

  • Successfully complete your secondary school
  • Pass your O’level (WAEC/NECO) well in not more than 2 sittings. The required subjects are Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and other health related subjects.
  • Apply for school of nursing program.
  • Get admission.

This type of nursing program is usually for duration of 3 years, after graduating, you will be able to work as a qualified nurse in any place you desire.

Ekiti State Scholarship and Bursary Award 2020/2021 Academic Session

The Ekiti State Government has instituted various scholarship and Bursary Awards for students of Ekiti State origin in the Federal, State and Private Universities in Nigeria and overseas.

DATE: From 1st July – 30th August, 2021.

Who can apply for Ekiti State Government Scholarship and Bursary?

All students who are indegenes of Ekiti State can apply as long as they meet the requirements as explained below

Scholarship Award

Applicants must be in 2nd year/HND and above in their courses of study to be qualified for undergraduate Scholarship Award and must possess WASC/NECO/ SSC with a minimum of 5 Credits including English Language and Mathematics at a sitting and minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0 for University or the equivalent of a second class Upper Division, 3.5 for Polytechnics and 3.5 for NCE in their current institutions of study.

  • Applicants for Masters Degree and Ph.D Scholarship Award must possess a minimum GPA of 2nd Class Upper at undergraduate level.  A strong letter of recommendation from the University of Masters Degree Programme is an additional prerequisite for the Ph.D Scholarship Award.
  • Physically Challenged Students in Tertiary Institutions (NCE, ND, HND and Degree Studies) are qualified for the Handicapped Scholarship Award.
  • Students on Part Time studies are NOT qualified for the Scholarship Awards.

Bursary Award

  • All undergraduates, Polytechnic, NCE, School of Nursing and Colleges of Health Technology students are qualified.

Who can apply for Delta State Bursary?

All Eligible Applicants must:

  • Be of Delta State Origin;
  • All applicant above 18 years of age MUST have registered with National Identification Management Commission (NIMC);
  • All applicant below 18 years of age MUST submit JAMB registration number;
  • Be a Registered full time student only of any Public Tertiary Institutions;

(Diploma, Masters and PhD Students are not eligible);

  • Either be in Second year or above (200 to 500 level) in the Universities or
  • Be in ND II, HND I and HND II in the Polytechnics / Monotechnics;
  • Be in 200 level and above for all Higher Institution.
  • Only approved public and private owned schools (University, Polytechnics and College of Educations) are Eligible to apply.
  • Have a CGPA of 2.20 and above in the previous academic year’s examination.

How to Apply for Delta State Bursary 2021

Note: Existing applicants still in school should login with their applicant ID and password to re-apply as multiple applications will attract automatic disqualification.

For new applicants, follow the steps below to apply

  • Go to http://dsbsb.dl.gov.ng/bursary/registration
  • Fill the form properly
  • Upload your recent passport photograph (not bigger than 20kb)
  • Pay the online processing fee with your debit card. (The Delta State Bursary processing fee costs ₦800)
  • After payment is successfully made, login to your profile page to complete the form (type in your bank details and academic records)
  • Download and Print your Online Acknowledgement Card after successful payment for verification, It is extremely important that you retain your Acknowledgement Card after sending scan copy to: 2020bursary@dsbsb.dl.gov.ng
