UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation

May 3, 2023 by Cyril O Leave a Comment

UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation 2023. Applications for the UNESCO Asia-pacific Awards for cultural Heritage conversations are now open. See how to apply below and the requirements.

UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It seeks to build peace through international cooperation in Education, the Sciences and Culture. UNESCO’s programs contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals defined in Agenda 2030, adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015. Political and economic arrangements of governments are not enough to secure the lasting and sincere support of the peoples. Peace must be founded upon dialogue and mutual understanding.

UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation

The UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation recognizes exemplary efforts by individuals and organizations to restore or conserve structures, places and properties of heritage value in the region. It encourages property owners to undertake conservation projects within their communities, either independently or by public-private partnerships.

Since it was first established in 2000, the Awards program has recognized 278 projects from 27 Asia-Pacific countries for their thorough understanding of their sites; their sound technical achievements; and their demonstration of social, economic and environmental impacts at all levels. In recognizing these practices, the Awards program has contributed to meaningful achievements in advancing a regional conversation about what constitutes cultural heritage, who has a stake in its stewardship, and how cultural heritage can contribute to the sustainable well-being of cities, societies and the environment.

Recommended – Federal Government SDG Scholarship Portal 2023/2024 – Apply

Benefits of UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards

Winners will be announced in November 2023 according to the following levels of achievement: Award of Excellence, Award of Distinction, Award of Merit, Award for New Design in Heritage Contexts; and Special Recognition for Sustainable Development.

  • The Award of Excellence represents the highest recognition in the Awards program, and is presented to projects that display exceptional achievement in all criteria, and that demonstrate a major catalytic impact at the national or regional level.
  • The Award of Distinction is given to projects that demonstrate outstanding achievement in all criteria and are making a significant impact at the national or regional level.
  • The Award of Merit recognizes projects that demonstrate superior achievement in all criteria.
  • The Award for New Design in Heritage Contexts is given to newly-built projects that demonstrate outstanding design and are well integrated with historical contexts. Submissions of completed new architecture and designs that enrich an existing heritage setting are encouraged. Building annexes, new extensions, new buildings, new public spaces, and new structures – such as bridges – are all eligible for consideration.
  • The Special Recognition for Sustainable Development was introduced in the 2020 Awards cycle to recognize projects that demonstrate noteworthy achievement in the overall Awards criteria and promise a significant contribution to sustainable development. Projects that are submitted to either the Conservation or the New Design category of the Awards program are eligible for this recognition.

How to Get Fully Funded Scholarships in Canada (Undergraduate And Masters)

May 1, 2023 by Cyril O Leave a Comment

How to Get Fully Funded Scholarships in Canada (Undergraduate And Masters). The Article below contains details and information on how to get fully funded scholarships in Canada in 2023.

What is a Scholarship?

A scholarship Can be defined as a form of financial assistance provided to students to support their education. Scholarships are typically awarded based on a range of criteria, often reflecting the values and goals of the organization or individual providing the award. Unlike loans, scholarship funds do not need to be repaid by the student. For international students, scholarships can be a valuable source of financial support for their studies.

Generally, scholarships are awarded to students with exceptional academic achievements, although some may also take into account volunteer and work experience. While some scholarships are automatically awarded, others require an application process. It is a widely accepted idea that scholarships can help students achieve their academic and career goals.

However, it is important to note that each scholarship has its unique requirements and eligibility criteria, which must be met by applicants to be considered for the award.

How To Get Scholarships in Canada – Fully Funded

1. Always Plan Ahead

To quickly secure fully funded scholarships in Canada in 2023, it is important to plan ahead. Late applications are one of the reasons why some students miss out on Canadian scholarships.

Unfortunately, some students only start looking for scholarship opportunities while in tertiary institutions, at the point where they are in dire need of financial aid.

It is essential to seek scholarships early as it has been proven that students who get scholarships are those who started applying while in high school.

Additionally, it is crucial to avoid waiting until the scholarship deadline before applying, and you should start as early as possible to increase your chances of success.

Note that you must provide evidence that you have sufficient funds to cover your financial needs while studying in Canada before starting your studies.

This is in line with Citizenship and Immigration Canada regulations. If you plan to pursue a scholarship to help finance your education, start researching opportunities early.

2. Make Sure to Conduct Thorough Research

In order to secure fully funded scholarships in Canada efficiently in 2023, it is important to familiarize yourself with scholarships managed by the Canadian government, provincial governments, private foundations, and non-profit organizations.

3. Understand the Requirements

Understanding the scholarship requirements is crucial and cannot be overstated. It holds as much significance as the scholarship itself.

This applies to all scholarships, including those in Canada, which have unique requirements that must be met to avoid disqualification.

Therefore, it’s essential to focus your efforts on scholarships that align with your eligibility criteria to increase your chances of success.

Make sure to read the eligibility requirements carefully and seek clarification from the award administrator if necessary.

4. Don’t Forget about the Smaller Awards

To quickly obtain fully-funded scholarships in Canada in 2022, keep in mind that awards with high-value prizes are typically highly competitive, making them less likely to be obtained.

Therefore, it becomes crucial to consider applying for smaller awards.

Applying to multiple smaller awards increases your chances of winning a few of them. For instance, applying to 20 awards worth $2,000 and winning five of them would give you a total of $10,000.

5. Have a Good Reference Letter

It is essential to have a well-written reference letter when applying for scholarships. The letter should be tailored specifically to the scholarship you are applying for and should not be a generic letter.

A high-quality reference letter indicates that you have established a good relationship with your referee, and it reflects positively on you. The following elements should be included in the reference letter:

  • It should have a letterhead.
  • It should be signed by the referee.
  • It should confirm your suitability for the scholarship.

6. Have a Good Passion and Personality

To quickly obtain fully funded scholarships in Canada in 2023, it is important to have a strong passion and a positive personality. The significance of having a passion for scholarships should not be overlooked.

Recommended – MMEG Masters Scholarship for African Students 2023/2024 – Apply

7. Always Do your Research

It is advisable to stay away from scholarships that require an application fee. Moreover, exercise caution when signing up for sites that demand payment to access scholarship information.

Pursuing such fraudulent scholarship opportunities can waste your time and resources, hindering your chances of finding and winning genuine scholarships.

8. Be Creative

When searching for scholarships in Canada, it is advisable to narrow down your search to scholarships that are relevant to your areas of interest.

Some scholarships may require that you have participated in a particular field, while others are geared towards students with specific professional goals.

It is important to carefully review the eligibility criteria and ensure that you meet all requirements before applying.

9. Believe You’ll Get the Scholarship

Believing in oneself is a crucial aspect of the scholarship application process. Believing in oneself is a crucial factor for achieving success.

Hence, it is imperative to apply for each scholarship with unshakeable self-confidence. This belief not only motivates an individual to strive harder but also increases the chances of being awarded the scholarship.
