This year, Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) would be deploying the DBN Learning Management System (LMS)- a free learning portal with carefully curated self-paced courses.

Who can Apply for DBN Entrepreneurship Program 2022 for Young Nigerians

1. Owner of business must be 18 years and above
2. Business owner must be a citizen or legal resident of Nigeria
3. The business must be based in Nigeria
4. The business must be for profit from any sector
5. Applicant must be available to commit to the training schedule once accepted

Selection Criteria

• Bankability- Level of readiness to access credit
• Feasibility and Sustainability of the business model
• Scalability- Demonstrates potential for growth of business to create jobs

Requirements

• The portal is open to all Nigerian MSMEs who are interested in acquiring the right knowledge needed to succeed in doing business in Nigeria.
• In addition, DBN will be selecting the best 200 businesses to attend a face-to-face training in Lagos and Abuja. This physical session would be an opportunity for businesses to practically apply important principles to their various businesses, discuss and receive business support in specific areas of need.
• All businesses will be eligible to pitch their business value proposition and 14 businesses will be selected to receive grant funding.

Application Procedure:

1. All applications must be submitted online through the application portal.

2. Interested businesses must register on the DBN BizAid application and must complete a minimum of 4 mandatory courses on the BizAid Learning management platform and obtain an average score of 70%. The courses that must be completed are:

a. Accounting & Bookkeeping,

b. Sustainability for MSMEs,

c. Marketing and Sales Techniques,

d. Credit Management/Access to Finance.

3. All businesses who have completed the 4 courses by September 23rd will receive an email with a link to apply for the face-to-face training.

4. Upon submission of the application form, an email confirming receipt will be sent to the applicant within a 24-hour period

5. Applicants will be screened and shortlisted from the close of the application based on the eligibility criteria.

6. Selection will be carried out using the defined selection criteria from the pool of shortlisted applications.

7. Communication with successful applicants shall be by email to the email address provided and a phone call to the phone number provided on the application form.

8. On site Training for selected applicants will commence on October 17th to October 21st 2022 in Lagos and Abuja.

Candidates will be expected to specialize in indigenous product development with bias towards serial fermentation and the physiology of attending microorganisms. 2. Department of Geology

a. Assistant Lecturer: Exploration Geophysics – Applicants should possess good first degree in Geology and M.Sc. degree in Exploration Geophysics from a recognized University and currently pursuing a Ph.D. programme in the relevant field of specialization. 3. Department of Botany

a. 4. Department of Chemistry

a. Reader/Professor: Industrial Chemistry/Chemical Engineering -Applicants should possess Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Ph.D. Degrees in Chemistry with specialization in Industrial Chemistry; or the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. a. Assistant Lecturer: Radiation and Health Physics/Theoretical Physics – Applicants must possess Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees in Physics. A Ph.D. degree candidature in Radiation and Health Physics or in Theoretical Physics will be an advantage.

2. Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics

Lecturer I: Applicants must possess Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. Degrees in Economics, Energy Studies, Energy Statistics or relevant disciplines and be registered with relevant professional bodies. a. Lecturer I: Applicants should possess Ph.D. in Banking, Finance or Economics and three (3) years post qualification experience. b. Lecturer II: Applicants should possess Ph.D. in Banking, Finance or Economics. 2. Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies

a. Lecturer II: Marketing Strategy and Management – Applicants must possess Ph.D. in Marketing/Management/Business Administration with special interest in Strategic Marketing, Management, Marketing Strategies and Models, International Marketing, Marketing Analytics and Consumer Behavior. Candidates with evidence of ongoing Ph.D. Registration may be considered. Membership of relevant professional bodies will be added advantage.

b. Lecturer II: Brand Management and Communication – Applicants must possess Ph.D. in Marketing/Management/Business Administration with specific interest in Sales Force Management, Marketing Communication, Sensory Branding/Marketing. Lecturer I and Lecturer II: Applicants must specialize in any two (2) areas of accounting which must be reflected in the curriculum vitae.

Lecturer I: Applicants must possess good first degree, Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Accounting with at least four (4) years cognate teaching and research experience (two of which must have been spent as Lecturer II). P. FACULTY OF TECHNOLOGY

1. Department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering

a. Lecturer II: Soil and Water Conservation/Environmental Engineering -Applicants must possess Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of Second-Class Honours in Agricultural Engineering and Master’s Degree with Ph.D. grade in Soil and Water Conservation. Applicants must either be registered, or be registerable with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). A current registration for Ph.D. in Soil and Water Conservation, evidence of publication and a working knowledge of programming languages such as Python will be added advantages.

b. Lecturer II: Environmental Engineering -Applicants must possess Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second-Class Honours in Agricultural Engineering and a Master’s degree with Ph.D. grade in Environmental Engineering. Applicants must either be registered or be registerable with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). A current registration for Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, evidence of publication and a working knowledge of programming languages such as Python will be added advantages.

2. Department of Automotive Engineering

a. Lecturer II: Applicants must possess higher degree (M.Sc.) in Automotive Engineering or in other related Engineering disciplines with evidence of registration for Ph.D. and registration with COREN or be registerable with COREN and other professional bodies.

b. Lecturer I: Applicants must possess higher degree of Ph.D. in Automotive Engineering or in other related Engineering disciplines. Registration with COREN, other professional bodies and teaching experience are required.

c. Senior Lecturer: Applicants must possess higher degree of Ph.D. in Automotive Engineering or in other related Engineering disciplines. Registration with COREN, other professional bodies and teaching experience of a minimum of 3 years are required.

3. Department of Biomedical Engineering

a. Lecturer II: Applicants must possess Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Paramedics or Life Sciences plus degree of Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biomedical Engineering. Candidates must be capable of being registered for further research degree and registerable with COREN.

b. Lecturer I: Applicants must possess Masters of Science (M.Sc.) and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering or allied engineering disciplines preferably in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics or Chemical Engineering with strong interest in Health Technology; with appreciable (at least 2 or 3) publications focusing on Biomedical Engineering. Applicants must have working knowledge of any modeling software such as COMSOL, ANSYS and ABACUS. Candidates must be registered with COREN.

4. Department of Civil Engineering

a. Lecturer I: Structural and Materials Engineering -Applicants must possess B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. Degrees in the field of Civil Engineering specializing in Structural Engineering. Previous teaching experience at the University level, membership of NSE, NIStructE and Registration with COREN are required. Evidence of Scholarly publication(s) in peer reviewed Journals will be an added advantage. Applicants must be proficient in the usage of the following Engineering software CSI SAP 200, PLAXIS, Civil CAD, AUTO Civil, TEKLA STRUCTURES, PROTA STRUCTURES REL 2018 and CSC ORION 18, and have at least five years field experience.

b. Lecturer II: Civil Engineering -Applicants must possess B.Sc. and M.Sc. Degrees in Civil Engineering. Applicants must be pursuing Ph.D. Degree in Civil Engineering, must have registered with NSE and COREN or show evidence of advanced stages of processing registration. Previous teaching experience at the University level and evidence of Scholarly publication(s) in peer reviewed Journals will be added advantages.

5. Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

a. Lecturer II: Applicants must possess Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with specialization in Electrical Power Systems/Power Electronics or Electronics/Communication Engineering. Applicants must be registerable with COREN and able to show evidence of current registration for Ph.D. programme.

b. Lecturer I: Applicants must possess Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. Degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with specialization in Electrical Power Systems/Power Electronics or Electronics/Communication Engineering. Applicants must be registerable with COREN and ready to show evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals and/or conferences.

6. Department of Food Technology

Lecturer II/I: Applicants must possess Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Food Science and/Technology, Postharvest Technology. Evidence of registration and progress report on Ph.D. Degree is required for Lecturer II position. Evidence of peer reviewed scholarly publications in reputable outlets is required for the applicants. Applicants must be competent to teach and conduct research in Food processing, Food product development, Food chemistry and Food Microbiology and Food Quality Control and Safety, Food plant Design, Food Machinery, Food Processing Engineering. The evidence of belonging to a Professional body will be an added advantage.

7. Department of Industrial and Production Engineering

a. Lecturer I: Applicants must possess Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. Degrees in relevant disciplines. The successful applicant will be required to teach courses in Production/Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Management/System Engineering, as well as Human Factors Engineering/Operations Research. Applicants must show evidence of scholarly publications and must be registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

b. Lecturer II: Applicants must possess Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in relevant disciplines and show evidence of current registration for the Ph.D. Degree Programme. The successful applicant will be required to teach courses in Production/Manufacturing Engineering and any two of the following subject options: Human Factor Engineering/Ergonomics, Engineering Management, System Engineering and Operations Research. Applicants must be registerable with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

8. Department of Petroleum Engineering

Lecturer II: Applicants must possess Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Petroleum Engineering or other closely related engineering disciplines relevant to the oil industry and show evidence of registration for higher degree in Petroleum Engineering with specialization in any of Petroleum Production, Petrophysics or Petroleum Economics. Evidence of publications in reputable journals and proficiency in industry-based software such as Python will be added advantages.

9. Department of Wood Products Engineering

a. Lecturer II: Wood Structures/Furniture Design & Manufacturing – Applicants should possess Master’s degree in Wood Products Engineering. Applicants must have not less than a Ph.D. grade. Distinction in M.Sc. result will be of advantage with evidence of registration for Ph.D. Candidates must be registerable with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

b. Lecturer II: Pulp & Paper/Bio-energy Study – Applicants should possess Master’s degree in Wood Products Engineering. Applicants must have not less than a Ph.D. grade. Distinction in M.Sc. result will be of advantage with evidence of registration for Ph.D. The prospective candidate must be registerable with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

Q. SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

a. Lecturer II: Marketing – Applicants must specialize in any two (2) areas of marketing which must be reflected in the curriculum vitae and must possess Ph.D. in marketing. Applicants must have at least two (2) articles in a highly recognized journal. Certificate of proficiency in Enterprise System Development (SAP) will be an added advantage.

b. Lecturer II: Management Sciences -Applicants must have Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, Agricultural Economics and Business Management. Applicants must have at least two (2) articles in a highly recognized journal.
