Development Bank of Nigeria Entrepreneurship Program 2022 for Young Nigerians- In addition to providing funding and risk-sharing facilities to MSMEs and Small Corporates through participating financial institutions, the Development Bank of Nigeria is expected to build the Capacity of the Nigerian MSME to enable them eligible to access credit.

This year, Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) would be deploying the DBN Learning Management System (LMS)- a free learning portal with carefully curated self-paced courses.

Who can Apply for DBN Entrepreneurship Program 2022 for Young Nigerians

  1. Owner of business must be 18 years and above
  2. Business owner must be a citizen or legal resident of Nigeria
  3. The business must be based in Nigeria
  4. The business must be for profit from any sector
  5. Applicant must be available to commit to the training schedule once accepted

Selection Criteria

  • Bankability- Level of readiness to access credit
  • Feasibility and Sustainability of the business model
  • Scalability- Demonstrates potential for growth of business to create jobs

Requirements

  • The portal is open to all Nigerian MSMEs who are interested in acquiring the right knowledge needed to succeed in doing business in Nigeria.
  • In addition, DBN will be selecting the best 200 businesses to attend a face-to-face training in Lagos and Abuja. This physical session would be an opportunity for businesses to practically apply important principles to their various businesses, discuss and receive business support in specific areas of need.
  • All businesses will be eligible to pitch their business value proposition and 14 businesses will be selected to receive grant funding.

Application Procedure:

1. All applications must be submitted online through the application portal.

2. Interested businesses must register on the DBN BizAid application and must complete a minimum of 4 mandatory courses on the BizAid Learning management platform and obtain an average score of 70%. The courses that must be completed are:

a. Accounting & Bookkeeping,

b. Sustainability for MSMEs,

c. Marketing and Sales Techniques,

d. Credit Management/Access to Finance.

3. All businesses who have completed the 4 courses by September 23rd will receive an email with a link to apply for the face-to-face training.

4. Upon submission of the application form, an email confirming receipt will be sent to the applicant within a 24-hour period

5. Applicants will be screened and shortlisted from the close of the application based on the eligibility criteria.

6. Selection will be carried out using the defined selection criteria from the pool of shortlisted applications.

7. Communication with successful applicants shall be by email to the email address provided and a phone call to the phone number provided on the application form.

8. On site Training for selected applicants will commence on October 17th to October 21st 2022 in Lagos and Abuja.

Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme 2023 for Study in Ireland

The Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme is unique in the Irish research landscape and complements other channels for funded postgraduate education in the Irish ecosystem. Among its features are:

  • individual, prestigious awards for excellent research in the name of the applicant;
  • an objective selection process using international, independent expert peer review;
  • funding across all disciplines, from archaeology to zoology; and
  • awards for bottom-up, non-directed research, with the exception of those funded by our strategic funding partners.\

Eligibility Requirements:

• There is no age limit for applicants to be eligible for either programme type.
• All applicants must be affiliated with an eligible Irish higher education institution or research-performing organisation.
• Applications will only be accepted in either the Irish or English language
• Applicants must not have had two previous unsuccessful applications to the relevant programme, including to strategic partner themes. This applies regardless of whether the applicant has changed their host institution or research topic since a previous submission.

Lecturer II (Language): English Syntax (Transformational Generative Grammar, TGG) – Applicants must possess Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Master of Arts (M.A) and Ph.D. Degrees in the field of English Language from reputable universities. Previous teaching experience at the University level and evidence of scholarly publication(s) in peer-reviewed journals.

5. Department of Theatre Arts

a. Assistant Lecturer (Educational Theatre): Theatre for Development, Creative Dramatics and Children’s Theatre. Applicants must possess Master of Arts Degree in Theatre Arts, obtained from a recognized University. Applicants must also have registered for a Ph.D. Degree. Evidence of previous work with children in creative arts at reputable schools for a minimum of two years and cognate experience in Theatre for Development (TfD) will be an added advantage.

b. Assistant Lecturer (Media and Theatre Management): Broadcast and Print Media, Film Production and Management, Theatre and Event Management – Applicants must possess Master of Arts Degree in Theatre Arts from a recognized University. Applicants must also have registered for the Ph.D. Degree. Evidence of previous work in Film or other broadcast media productions, competence in at least two of the following technical areas; Graphics, Editing, Cinematography, Set, Light and Sound Design. Evidence of Management of Theatre and Event Projects and a minimum of two years of teaching experience in any recognized university will be an added advantage.

c. Lecturer II (Costume, Make-Up): Make-Up, Costume and Fashion Design-Applicants must be Ph.D. holders with at least two years post qualification experience in a recognized University and have demonstrable competence in the teaching of Costume and fashion design, Make-Up and Special Effects. Evidence of at least three years of teaching and practice experience in the field of Costume, Make-Up and Special Effects will be an added advantage.

6. Department of European Studies

a. Lecturer II: FRENCH – Applicants must have Ph.D. in Translation Studies and evidence of publications in learned journals. Teaching experience in a reputable University in French language and Translation.

b. Assistant Lecturer: GERMAN – Applicants must possess Master’s degree in German Studies and must be able to teach German language, culture and civilization. Evidence of registration for M.Phil./Ph.D. or Ph.D. Degree is required.

c. Assistant Lecturer: RUSSIAN – Applicants must possess Master’s degree in Russian Studies or European Studies and must be able to teach Russian language, culture and civilization. Evidence of registration for M.Phil./Ph.D. or Ph.D. in any reputable University is an advantage.

7. Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies

a. Assistant Lecturer: Applicants must have Master’s Degree in Islamic Studies with specialization in Islamic Law with bias in inheritance and marital issues with evidence of Ph.D. Degree registration.

8. Department of Religious Studies

a. Assistant Lecturer: Candidates must possess Master’s Degree in Traditional Religion or Comparative Religion. Candidates must also provide evidence of registration for Ph.D. in a recognized University.

b. Lecturer II: Candidates must possess Ph.D. in Traditional Religion or Comparative Religions. Publications in reputable outlets can be an added advantage.

B. FACULTY OF SCIENCE

1. Department of Microbiology

a. Assistant Lecturer: Candidates must possess Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division in Microbiology from a recognized University; Master of Science in Microbiology with bias for Environmental Microbiology. Candidates must be willing to further engage in Pathogenic aspect of Microbiology research. Minimum of two years experience in teaching at a tertiary institution will be an added advantage.

b. Lecturer II: Applicants must possess Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Ph.D. Degrees in Microbiology. Candidates will be expected to specialize in indigenous product development with bias towards serial fermentation and the physiology of attending microorganisms. Lecturer II: Animal Breeding and Genetics – Applicants must possess Ph.D. degree in Animal Science with specialization in Animal Breeding and Genetics. Candidates must have very strong background in Genomics/Molecular Genetics with at least three years of experience at tertiary level and must demonstrate basic knowledge in quantitative genetics. A good background in biostatistics and few publications in peer-reviewed journals will be added advantages. In addition, applicants must be Registered Animal Scientists (RAS).

Lecturer II: Soil and Water Conservation/Environmental Engineering -Applicants must possess Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of Second-Class Honours in Agricultural Engineering and Master’s Degree with Ph.D. grade in Soil and Water Conservation. Applicants must either be registered, or be registerable with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). b. Lecturer I: Applicants must possess higher degree of Ph.D. in Automotive Engineering or in other related Engineering disciplines. Registration with COREN, other professional bodies and teaching experience are required.

c. Senior Lecturer: Applicants must possess higher degree of Ph.D. in Automotive Engineering or in other related Engineering disciplines. Registration with COREN, other professional bodies and teaching experience of a minimum of 3 years are required.

3. Department of Biomedical Engineering

a. Lecturer II: Applicants must possess Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Paramedics or Life Sciences plus degree of Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biomedical Engineering. Candidates must be capable of being registered for further research degree and registerable with COREN.

b. Lecturer I: Applicants must possess Masters of Science (M.Sc.) and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering or allied engineering disciplines preferably in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics or Chemical Engineering with strong interest in Health Technology; with appreciable (at least 2 or 3) publications focusing on Biomedical Engineering. Applicants must have working knowledge of any modeling software such as COMSOL, ANSYS and ABACUS. Candidates must be registered with COREN.

a. Lecturer I: Structural and Materials Engineering -Applicants must possess B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. Degrees in the field of Civil Engineering specializing in Structural Engineering. Previous teaching experience at the University level, membership of NSE, NIStructE and Registration with COREN are required. Evidence of registration and progress report on Ph.D. Degree is required for Lecturer II position. Evidence of peer reviewed scholarly publications in reputable outlets is required for the applicants. Applicants must be competent to teach and conduct research in Food processing, Food product development, Food chemistry and Food Microbiology and Food Quality Control and Safety, Food plant Design, Food Machinery, Food Processing Engineering. The evidence of belonging to a Professional body will be an added advantage.

7. Department of Industrial and Production Engineering

a. Lecturer I: Applicants must possess Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. Degrees in relevant disciplines. The successful applicant will be required to teach courses in Production/Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Management/System Engineering, as well as Human Factors Engineering/Operations Research. Applicants must show evidence of scholarly publications and must be registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

b. Lecturer II: Applicants must possess Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in relevant disciplines and show evidence of current registration for the Ph.D. Degree Programme. Location: Nationwide

Qualifications & Requirements for INEC Staff Recruitment

1.) Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs)
Source Institution and Qualification

  • Federal Public / Civil Service / MDAs – Staff on GL 10-14 (Priority is given MDAs. qualified staff of NYSC / NOA / NIMC.
  • INEC Staff – RAOs & other INEC staff not engaged in any other duties (GL 10 – 14).

2.) Presiding Officer (PO) & Assistant Presiding Officer (APO)
Source Institution and Qualification

  • NYSC – Serving Corps members
  • Former NYSC – Not earlier than 2018 (i.e 2018, 2019, 2020 & 2021).
  • Federal & State Tertiary Institution – Students in Penultimate year & a year to Convocation.
  • MDAs (Federal and State) – Permanent Staff with OND or on GL 07 – 10.

3.) RAC Manager
Source Institution and Qualification

  • The school/institution hosting the RAC or Super RAC – Head of school or/a Staff on GL 07 and above.

4.) Registration Area Technician (RATECH)
Source Institution and Qualification

  • INEC Staff – Suitable ICT staff (State & HQ) of the Commission not engaged in any other duties.
  • NYSC – Serving Corps members in the Commission (where available).

General Criteria for All Positions

  • Applicants must not be a political party member.
  • Applicants must not have demonstrated or expressed support for any candidate or party.
  • Applicants must reside in the STATE selected.

Online Recruitment of Ad-hoc Staff Via The INEC Portal For Recruitment of Election Staff (INECPRES) For The 2023 General Elections. This is to notify the entire public, that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved the use of INECPRES and its reactivation for interested Applicants who wish to serve as ad-hoc staff for the 2023 General Elections.

Important Documents for INEC recruitment

Before you register on the INEC recruitment portal, ensure you have the following ready;

  • A functional email address.
  • A functioning mobile phone number.
  • A personal bank account number.
  • A recent, white background Passport Photograph not larger than 50kb.
  • Contact details of two referees such as email address and phone number.
  • A valid Staff ID No./Student ID No (as displayed on your ID Card)
  • An NYSC Callup Number for former corps members (2020-2021).
  • NYSC Callup Number for current corps members, 2022.

How to Apply for INEC Recruitment 2022/2023

All interested applicants must register on the INECPRES to be eligible for selection and deployment as ad-hoc staff in the 2023 General Elections.

To achieve the required number of ad-hoc staff per states, it is important that robust engagement/sensitisation by the Admin. Secs HOD EOPS/EOs & AEOS under the leadership of the RECS is commenced with the Authorities of Federal, State Tertiary Institutions and the NYSC ofices (state/ Government levels).
