Key Responsibilities:

• Familiarize yourself with and strictly adhere to all clinical area policies, promoting a culture of compliance.
• Offer guidance and support to less experienced nurses, healthcare assistants, and learners.
• Play an active role in maintaining cost-effectiveness while delivering high-quality care.
• Assist the ward manager in efficient budgetary control, optimizing the use of resources such as manpower, equipment, and supplies.
• Uphold a safe and hygienic working environment by diligently following hospital procedures, regulations, and rules.
• Act as a role model, setting high standards for professional conduct.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals for effective care and discharge planning.
• Champion patient advocacy, ensuring their voices are heard and needs addressed.
• Maintain meticulous and legible patient care records, aligning with hospital policies and Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria code of conduct.
• Provide comprehensive care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, working closely with the multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, fostering positive relationships with staff, patients, and visitors.
• Attend infection control training sessions as mandated by hospital policy.
• Deliver health promotion information and guidance to clients, visitors, and fellow staff members.
• Fulfill any additional duties assigned by the ward manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work harmoniously in a team and collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals
• Proven commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
• Valid and up-to-date Nursing License/Certification in Nigeria
• Preferred: 3-5 years of prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting
• Proficiency in medical terminology, procedures, and equipment
• Capacity to excel under pressure and manage multiple tasks
