Procedure for Metering

  1. Select your account type (prepaid or postpaid)
  2. Enter an active phone number and select get started
  3. Fill the meter application form with valid information then submit.

Note:
All applicants must have existing active BEDC account numbers (prepaid or postpaid) before they can apply for metering. They must also ensure the use of valid email address and phone numbers during registration. Applicants must have any of the following document for identification purpose if they must complete the BEDC Meter Application Form.

  1. Valid Driver’s License
  2. Valid International Passport
  3. National ID Card.

After registration, the MAP ID will be displayed on the screen and also sent to your registered email address. Applicants are to take note of the MAP ID and phone number used in registration as that is what will be required to access the customer’s dashboard to monitor their application status.

How to Register and Get BEDC Prepaid Meter Online

  1. Application – Visit beninelectric.com or walk into any of our offices to apply and get an application MAP ID
  2. Inspection – After successful application, the customer’s premises will be visited for Inspection and Evaluation.
  3. Payment – Customers are to pay using their MAP ID to the dedicated MAP account only when prompted. Do not pay to any third party account.
  4. Installation – A MAP Installer will install the meter within 10 days of payment at no extra cost.

SCUML stands for Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering. Functions of SCUML

  2. Sensitization of DNFIs in Nigeria on their compliance obligations, under the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011 (as amended) and the implementation guidelines.

  5. Taking necessary enforcement actions to ensure compliance with the AML/CFT Laws and Regulations.

The Council usually advertises entry periods and entry procedures in national newspapers. In respect of the WASSCE for example, the Council conducts two exams each year; the first in May/June for school candidates and the second in October/November for private candidates.

Registration for either May/June or the November/December WASSCE is done through the Internet (online). The May/June exam is for school candidates and all entry formalities are undertaken by the schools presenting candidates.

In the case of the private candidates’ examination, entry is on an individual basis. A prospective candidate purchases the entry scratch card which enables him/her to complete the entry form on the Council’s registration website-www.waeconline.org.ng. A registered candidate subsequently prints out from the website the identification photo card, which contains vital information about the candidate’s centre name, location, number and the subjects entered for. The examination timetable and subject syllabuses are also made available to prospective candidates on the website.

It is important to note that once the prescribed fee is paid to the accredited selling agent, a prospective candidate obtains two scratch cards, one for the online registration and the other for the online checking of results.

  2. Receive three sets of 20-digit tokens after your first vend following NIN linkage.
  3. If you don’t receive the tokens, generate the code here after recharging.
  4. Input the first set of 20-digit tokens (KCT 1) to reset the meter.
  5. Input the second set of 20-digit tokens (KCT 2) to upgrade the meter to the new STS platform.
  6. Use the last 20-digit tokens to load the purchased energy value into the meter.
