JAMB Announces New Cut-Off Mark 2020- JAMB Meeting Latest Update

This is to notify all our readers especially the admission seekers, that JAMB has just announced a new cut-off mark after much deliberation at the JAMB stakeholders meeting.

JAMB Meeting Update 2021

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has set a new cut off mark for admission into higher institutions for the 2020 academic session.

This was disclosed at the JAMB policy meeting which was held online. The cut-off mark for admission into tertiary institutions is now 160 and above as opposed to 180 and above in previous year.

From the meeting, it was gathered that a total of 612, 557 candidates were offered admission in 2019 and about 510,957 admission spaces were unused by tertiary institutions in 2019.

The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has said that candidates waiting for their results (SSCE, WAEC, NECO, NAMTEB etc) will only be considered for admission when they are uploaded on its website.

The Minister of Education, has directed JAMB and tertiary institutions to proceed with the conduct of 2020/2021 admissions.

In line with this information, admission processes are expected to commence in August, 2020 based on the guidelines released by JAMB. It was also advised that candidates with older (previous years) SSCE result be considered first for admission.

JAMB CUT OFF MARK FOR ALL UNIVERSITIES

The JAMB cut off mark for universities is 160 and above. Please note that it is advisable to score higher as candidates with higher scores will be considered first.

JAMB CUT OFF MARK FOR ALL POLYTECHNICS

The JAMB cut off mark for polytechnics is 120 and above. Please note that it is advisable to score higher as candidates with higher scores will be considered first in top Nigerian polytechnics.

The JAMB cut off mark for college of education is 100 and above.

The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria is the national body that regulates the activities of Pharmacists in Nigeria.

JAMB Cut off Mark for Pharmacy 2020

Do you wish to know the cut off mark set by JAMB for Pharmacy in Nigerian Universities?

Before we proceed, it is important we inform you that Pharmacy is not studied in all Nigerian Universities, as some schools don’t offer the course. This post update is for all those who wish to study Nursing in any of the higher institutions. We hope this guide helps you get the admission you desire.

What are the role of Nurses?

Nurses play a very vital role in our society. The nurses are the ones in charge of administering and taking care of the patient before and after a medical procedure.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria is the national body that regulates the activities of the course in Nigeria.

JAMB Cut off Mark for Nursing 2021

Do you wish to know the cut off mark set by JAMB for Nursing science in Nigerian Universities?

Before we proceed, it is important we inform you that Nursing Science is a clinical course and not all Nigerian Universities offer the course. Ensure that you selected an accredited university during your JAMB 2020 registration, you can also do JAMB change of course/ JAMB change of institution.

The usual cut-off mark set by JAMB is 180 for Nursing Science, but not all schools accept this score as some schools like Ahmadu Bello University, University of Benin, University of Ibadan etc. set their Nursing Cutoff mark between 200-250 and above.

If you are applying for admission into such schools you must ensure you have a high JAMB Score.

Other courses like Law, Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy are also very competitive and you must also score very high to stand a chance of getting admission into the university of your choice.

Post UTME Cutoff Mark for Nursing in all universities

You would already know that to gain admission into any university does not depend on how high you performed in JAMB but also how well you perform in the Post-UTME screening/Exam of your choice institution.

While some schools write screening exams, others just screen the qualifications such as WAEC result etc.

How to gain admission to study Nursing in any university 2020

The reason you have read all this, is simply because you are serious about gaining admission to study your dream course-Nursing.

To gain admission into universities that base their admission selection on the average score between your JAMB Score and Post UTME score,you must do very well in both exams, however, if you didn’t score so high in JAMB, all hope is not lost as you can make up for it in your 2020 Post UTME.

For Universities that conduct post utme, if you are applying for Nursing Science, you must have at least a minimum Post UTME score of 65-70%. This would increase your chances of getting your dream admission this year.

Please know that this course is very competitive and as such you must work very hard to scale through.

It is also important that you got good grades in your SSCE/O’level/NABTEP/NECO etc.
