  • Total ownership of production service on plant and equipment to which they are primarily allocated: operating and cleaning, carrying out maintenance schedules, responding to breakdowns, assessing & monitoring plant performance on an ongoing basis, and attending to all other process duties in a timely manner.
  • Operates the bottle washer to produce clean bottles to the EBI and liaises with the caustic tank room operator in the transfer or return of caustic while also ensuring the caustic concentration of the bottle washer is within the specified range
  • Manage materials, components and spares required by their plant and equipment – includes draw down stock from locally provided “bins” and be accountable for whatever stock is drawn down
  • With support from Shift Managers, achieve production plans and key performance targets, and deliver agreed Customer Service levels
  • Manage the operation of all key equipment to operate within world-class levels of waste management
  • Responsible for ensuring that all temperature zones of the washer are at the specified level
  • Deliver best possible plant operation by maximizing plant availability and efficiency of operation through the execution of Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules. Interface with SAP PM as appropriate
  • Optimise product quality, through continuous observation and attention to detail, delivering RFT against the Global Finished Product Specification on quality and control parameters. Respond to non-conformances in a timely manner to keep the process on track. Apply, record & share learnings or RCPS Root Cause Problem Solving to prevent re-occurrence.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess the following:

  • OND / Trade Test (City and Guild) or any nationally recognized equivalent in any of the Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation fields and ideally have an appropriate qualification in Brewing, Packaging, Engineering or Utilities in addition
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years experience/competence in Operations, Maintenance, Process Control and Performance Measurement in a brewery, drinks or food manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate understanding of teamwork principles, continuous improvement, preventative maintenance, and problem-solving.
  • Respond to change in a positive and flexible manner and sustain a positive outlook across a range of situations/challenges.

Job Objective

  • Supervise the activities of the assigned packing plant shift team to ensure plant operations are optimized and established targets for the plant are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage packing plant shift teams to ensure effective and efficient execution of packing plant activities and achievement of daily production targets.
  • Supervise the operation of packing plant equipment during respective shift.
  • Liaise with maintenance engineers for the maintenance of packing plant machines and ensure prompt repairs are carried out when required.
  • Enforce the use of personal protection equipment during a respective shift to prevent accidents.
  • Ensure effective on-the-job training of packing plant operators.
  • Act as shift in-charge for the respective shift team.
  • Assist with reviewing of ATCs for respective shift teams and ensure Shift Manager signs off in a timely manner.
  • Assist in supervising the loading of cement into trucks during respective shift.
  • Perform any other duty assigned by the Shift Manager.

Requirements And Qualifications

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in any discipline

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good knowledge of the cement production process
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Good relationship management skills
  • Good knowledge of the cement packing machines/ functions and procedures
  • Good supervisory skills

Role Summary

  • We are looking to hire a dynamic and agile Government Relations and Public Policy Manager to cover our GR efforts in Nigeria and West Africa.
  • The ideal candidate must be a strategic thinker and a strong team player with the ability to exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing environment.
  • The candidate must have a good understanding of the region’s public policy challenges, political systems, institutions, and cultural landscape; and, solid networks and relationships with Nigerian, West African, and Sub-Saharan policy-makers, multilateral agencies, academia, and civil society stakeholders.

Roles And Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for this exciting role include:

  • Building relationships with local Governments, NGOs, academia, think tanks, and other stakeholders in West Africa and other selected Sub-Saharan African (SSA) markets to support the growth of TikTok;
  • Working with policymakers, think tanks, private sector partners, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on issues of data protection, privacy, safety and security, intellectual property, e-governance, content policy, and other technology-relevant public policy concerns;
  • Building long-term strategic relationships with local partners; developing and executing advocacy/policy campaigns in relevant public policy areas that impact TikTok;
  • Actively identifying emerging and significant policy issues in these markets and engage with stakeholders and experts on issues of importance;
  • Monitoring political and social events in the SSA region, and working with local teams to mitigate operational risks; and,
  • Being an external advocate for TikTok’s policy positions, and working to help local communities understand TikTok better.
  • Advising internal teams on public policy matters emerging in West Africa and the rest of SSA; and help to shape strategic and actionable plans in line with respective Governments’ regulations and policy frameworks;

Requirements And Qualifications

To join our dynamic and fast-growing team, the ideal candidate must have the following minimum qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree or equivalent practical experience;
  • An education background in law or (tech) public policy is a plus;
  • 12-15 years of demonstrated experience managing public policy and/or government relations, advocacy work and government / private sector partnerships;
  • 5-7 years of work experience in local government or a public policy team of a global tech or Internet company is preferred;
  • A solid network and relationships with Nigerian and other West African policy-makers, academia, civil society and the technology industry;
  • An interest in emerging technologies and public policy work; and,
  • A strong team player with the ability to exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment.
  • Outstanding judgment, persuasive and lobbying skills, creativity, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and often uncertain environment;
  •  A vast understanding of West Africa and the Sub-Saharan Africa content markets and the technology sector;
  • A keen understanding of the region’s political system, environment and institutions, as well as cultural landscape;
