KDSG Scholarship Selection Criteria

The scholarship selection criteria include merit, financial need, disability, or skills, with a preference for candidates from Kaduna State. The Government is committed to ensuring equal access to quality education, especially for those with outstanding academic achievements.

Merit-Based Local Scholarship Requirements:

• Applicants must be residents of Kaduna State.
• Submission of personal income tax clearance certificate of parents or death certificate as applicable.
• New students must provide a valid admission letter.
• Continuing students must have at least one year left to graduate.
• Undergraduate applicants must have a minimum grade B in at least five subjects in WAEC, WASSCE, NECO, or equivalent, and not more than three years from graduation.
• Continuing Undergraduate applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 4.0.

Merit-Based Foreign Scholarship Requirements:

• Applicants must be residents of Kaduna State.
• Submission of personal income tax clearance certificate of parents or death certificate as applicable.
• New students must provide a valid admission letter.
• All shortlisted foreign applicants must undergo a drug test and provide a full medical certificate from a government hospital.
• All shortlisted foreign applicants must execute a bond agreement with the State.
• Undergraduate applicants for foreign scholarship in approved fields of study not available or in short supply in Nigeria must have a minimum of grade A in at least five (5) subjects including Mathematics and English and grade B for the other subjects in WAEC, WASSCE, NECO or its equivalent in one sitting and not more than three (3) years from graduation.
• Postgraduate applicants for foreign scholarship must graduate with a first class honours for Masters degree while applicants for PhD degree must have a Master’s degree with distinction.
