FG Gives Automatic Employment to 774 National Health Fellows- Jubilation for fellows as President Tinubu gives automatic employment to 774 National Health Fellows shortlisted for the programme.
Speaking at the official launch of the initiative in Abuja, Tinubu assured the young professionals, who are responsible for monitoring Primary Healthcare Centres, PHCs, across all 774 local government areas, that their service would not end after their one-year tenure.
“You are hired,” the President declared, reaffirming his commitment to integrating them into the workforce upon completion of the programme.
The President’s announcement followed a call by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Pate, for federal, state, and local governments to integrate the fellows into the workforce to advance Universal Health Coverage in Nigeria.
The National Health Fellows Programme was created to drive impactful structure in the health sector through innovative ideas. Note that shortlisted fellows were selected based on merit from a competitive pool of over 359,000 applicants nation wide.
