WFSA Paediatric Anaesthesia Training in Africa (PATA) Fellowship Program for Paediatricians In Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda & Zambia. Applications are now open for the WFSA Paediatric Anasthesia training in Africa Fellowship for paediatricians. See details below and how to apply.
After the end of the Second World War anaesthetists found that international travel became more widely available. This coupled with a desire to learn from others and exchange experiences led, through a series of other meetings, to the establishment of an Interim Committee which met in 1953 and 1954. In 1955 the first World Congress of Anaesthesiologists took place at Scheveningen in the Netherlands. And at the end of the Congress the WFSA came into existence.
Fellows will work at the Department of Anaesthesia at National Hospital Abuja. Teaching will be provided by local faculty and visiting specialists.
PATA is locally led and supported by the WFSA, the Nigerian Society of Anaesthetists, and experienced partners from the global surgery and anaesthesia space including Smile Train and the Vanderbilt University Medical Centre.
The successful applicants will receive funding to cover tuition, accommodation and subsistence living expenses.
