The university aims to attract talented international students to its international classroom by offering several scholarship opportunities. Below you will find an overview of the scholarships available for prospective international MSc students.

Wageningen University Scholarship

The scholarship programmes offered by Wageningen University are for prospective students only. WU does not offer scholarship programmes for students who are starting their 2nd MSc year.

Scholarship Application Deadline

The deadline for application is 1st of February, 2025. All MSc applications that have been submitted before this deadline will be assessed by the selection committee.

Full scholarship for a Wageningen University MSc Programme.

Types of Scholarship by Invitation

  1. Excellence Program – For International MSc students from outside the European Economic Area (including Switzerland) starting an MSc programme in September 2025 who have unconditional admission.
  2. Africa Scholarship Program (ASP) – For International MSc students from Africa starting an MSc programme in September 2025 who have unconditional admission. Preference is given to students who have not obtained a master’s degree yet.
  3. Anne van den Ban Fund – For International students from developing countries starting an MSc programme in September 2025 who have unconditional admission.

Qualifications and Requirements

Each scholarship has its own eligibility requirements. However, the general criteria for most WUR scholarships include:

  • You must demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, usually a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • You will need to demonstrate proficiency in English (through TOEFL, IELTS, or other accepted tests).
  • You must have received or be in the process of receiving an offer for a Master’s program at WUR.
  • Some scholarships, like the Holland Scholarship, are only available to students from specific countries (outside of the EU/EEA).
