UNESCO Mid-Level Professionals Programme 2023 – 2024
The Mid-Level Professionals Programme (MLPP) is a recruitment initiative for talented and highly qualified mid-level professionals who wish to start and/or advance their careers as International Civil Servants at UNESCO.
While recruitment is open to candidates from all UNESCO’s Member States, priority consideration, at equal competence, will be given to candidates from non- and under-represented Member States and to internal candidates.

UNESCO Mid-Level Professionals Programme Qualification and Requirements
The UNESCO MLPP offers a gateway to a rewarding career. Here’s what you need to know:
- Eligibility Criteria: To qualify, you must be a national of a UNESCO Member State. While applications are welcome from all Member States, priority consideration will be given to candidates from underrepresented Member States and internal applicants. Ensure you meet standard educational and work experience requirements for positions at P-3 and P-4 levels.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in at least one working language of the Secretariat (English or French) is essential. Knowledge of the other working language is advantageous and may be required in some cases. Additionally, proficiency in Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish can be an asset.
