Come to study Vocational Qualification in Mechanical Engineering and Production Technologies to Kuopio, Finland! After graduation, you will become a plater-welder.
You will study at our modern well-equipped premises in Savo Vocational College in Savilahti Campus, Kuopio. The practical training periods take place in the companies in the region and will make up an important part of the education.
The work of plater-welders includes welding, modifying and joining metal sheets together. Plater-welders work within larger productions manufacturing steel pieces according to the relevant production drawings and instructions. Their tasks can include, for example, various welding jobs, as well as cutting and bending metal sheets.
Plater-welders have the skills to use modern CNC machinery and equipment in their work.
They work within the metal industry, manufacturing metal sheet pieces and welded metal sheets and producing various steel structures or parts. Steel structures are used in various machines, buildings and vehicles.

Eligibility
You can apply if you have
- High school certificate or the general school-leaving certificate
- Good command of the English language
- Good IT-skills
- Good physical and mental condition to study and work in the mechanical engineering and production technology industry
- You will be able to start your studies in Kuopio in September 2024.
- At least 18 years of age.
