Role Description:

As a full-time on-site Registered Nurse, your role is crucial in ensuring exceptional patient care within the bustling environment of Reddington Hospital, Lagos. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide array of tasks, including providing patient care, extending support to patients and their families, administering medications, and conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Your primary objective is to guarantee that all patients receive tailored treatment and care according to their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Familiarize yourself with and strictly adhere to all clinical area policies, promoting a culture of compliance.
Offer guidance and support to less experienced nurses, healthcare assistants, and learners.
Play an active role in maintaining cost-effectiveness while delivering high-quality care.
Assist the ward manager in efficient budgetary control, optimizing the use of resources such as manpower, equipment, and supplies.
Uphold a safe and hygienic working environment by diligently following hospital procedures, regulations, and rules.
Act as a role model, setting high standards for professional conduct.
Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals for effective care and discharge planning.
Champion patient advocacy, ensuring their voices are heard and needs addressed.
Maintain meticulous and legible patient care records, aligning with hospital policies and Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria code of conduct.
Provide comprehensive care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, working closely with the multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, fostering positive relationships with staff, patients, and visitors.
Attend infection control training sessions as mandated by hospital policy.
Deliver health promotion information and guidance to clients, visitors, and fellow staff members.
Fulfill any additional duties assigned by the ward manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work harmoniously in a team and collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals
Proven commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Valid and up-to-date Nursing License/Certification in Nigeria
Preferred: 3-5 years of prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting
Proficiency in medical terminology, procedures, and equipment
Capacity to excel under pressure and manage multiple tasks
