The Lagos State Scholarship Board was founded in line with the state’s outlook as the centre of excellence. The sole purpose is to foster, encourage and reward high academic standards in students across the country. Its uttermost priority is the ultimate provision of educational assistance to students for the development of Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole. The Lagos State Scholarship Board is the State Government’s organ established in February 1968 shortly after the creation of the State to be in charge of Bursary, Scholarship and other educational related matters.
The Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Scholarship Board wishes to inform indigenous students of Lagos State in tertiary institutions across the country and intending to be beneficiaries of either Bursary or Scholarship Award that application forms for both Awards for 2022/2023 academic year will be on sale from Thursday, 1st June; 2023 and closes by 12 midnight of Friday, 30th June; 2023.

In the Year 2007, the present administration ensured that Bursary award rates were increased to meet with present economic realities. With the following rates approved:

Furthermore, this administration increased Bursary to Law School students by approving the rate of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000. 00) only per bonafide indigene. This is to lighten their financial burden and it is paid once. A sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) only is also awarded to indigenes of the State studying in Maritime Academy.

Academic Excellence
The applicant must have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 and above for undergraduate and 2.1 (second class upper) for postgraduate.
