JAMB Announces New Cut-Off Mark 2020- JAMB Meeting Latest Update

This is to notify all our readers especially the admission seekers, that JAMB has just announced a new cut-off mark after much deliberation at the JAMB stakeholders meeting.

JAMB Meeting Update 2021

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has set a new cut off mark for admission into higher institutions for the 2020 academic session.

This was disclosed at the JAMB policy meeting which was held online. The cut-off mark for admission into tertiary institutions is now 160 and above as opposed to 180 and above in previous year.

From the meeting, it was gathered that a total of 612, 557 candidates were offered admission in 2019 and about 510,957 admission spaces were unused by tertiary institutions in 2019.

The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has said that candidates waiting for their results (SSCE, WAEC, NECO, NAMTEB etc) will only be considered for admission when they are uploaded on its website.

The Minister of Education, has directed JAMB and tertiary institutions to proceed with the conduct of 2020/2021 admissions.

In line with this information, admission processes are expected to commence in August, 2020 based on the guidelines released by JAMB. It was also advised that candidates with older (previous years) SSCE result be considered first for admission.

JAMB CUT OFF MARK FOR ALL UNIVERSITIES

The JAMB cut off mark for universities is 160 and above. Please note that it is advisable to score higher as candidates with higher scores will be considered first.

JAMB CUT OFF MARK FOR ALL POLYTECHNICS

The JAMB cut off mark for polytechnics is 120 and above. Please note that it is advisable to score higher as candidates with higher scores will be considered first in top Nigerian polytechnics.

JAMB CUT OFF MARK FOR ALL COLLEGES OF EDUCATION

The JAMB cut off mark for college of education is 100 and above.

    • JAMB 2021 Registration has been placed on hold for now because of NIN registration which is compulsory for all applicants.
